generally teenagers are emo due to depresstion from such things as abusive parents, sexual abuse, etc.

Generally people who are "emo" do it because they see every other 12 year old kid wearing skinnies and having terrible piercings and think that they can be kool too if they convince themselves they are depressed! People who are truly depressed don't wear skinnies and draw attention to themselves by saying how "emo" they are, they just hibernate and keep to themselves, usually due to a fear of people (alas the experiences with the people i know that is). Emo is a representation of an old music genre, what your talking about is scene, a bunch of little kids dressing up like idiots and telling the world how "oppressed" they are. With that said there are exceptions, but whatever.

Twilliger, nowdays, when we say emo, 99% of people thinks about same thing... and they dont think about music genre... It was music genre before, but nowdays, Its style of dressing, acting, cutting yourself, looking sad and depressed etc...
Meaning of emo, changed ... maybe 99% of world are ignorant, but ... :/ We changed that word's meaning.

Well, i could get new friends. But i don't want to. Instead of ditching my friends, i'm helping them. Isn't that the better thing to do? We all kinda support eachother, and rarely is cutting involved. Less emos' cut themselves then all of you think, it just got flamed so it seems like they all do it.
