Snowboard or Ski?

Post by devilti »

hey guys. i bring to you the ultimate question. snowboard or ski?
please vote and please state your argument.

READ THIS: dont include teh arguement that one is more fun than the other. its weak, and depends on opinion.

i personally believe snowboard is for, as i put it, the technically unsophisticated. if you dont agree state your argumrnt instead of just saying im full of crap.

after you see the arguments, feel free to change your vote.
boyaka boyaka.

Never done either. Though a Snowboard looks more fun. Something about it's maneuverability although some say Ski's are just an maneuverable, I'd rather a Snowboard.

Use to snowboard a lot where i use to live, in this old field. Was a lot of fun for me. Til i went into a barbwire fence, hurt a bit. Snowboarding is fun though.

just saw this part btw
devilti wrote:i personally believe snowboard is for, as i put it, the technically unsophisticated. if you dont agree state your argumrnt instead of just saying im full of crap.

if you can't back that up with proper proof as to why snowboarding is for
the technically unsophisticated, then you're full of crap.

i suppose you haven't tried snowboarding, since that would make you part
of us technically unsophisticated humans. srsly, back up your own story
before telling us we have to. i have done both skiïng and snowboarding,
and in the end i found snowboarding more fun. and both require a good
amount of technique.

please tell me you've properly tried snowboarding (as in, you can go
downhill, take turns on it, etc).

I have skied for 13 years of my life, and snowboarded for 5 years. I think that by far for speed, and maneuverability, skiing is much more fun than snowboard. Although I am much better. And in the snow park, skies are much more challenging 8)

Snowboard: Broken a wrist
Ski: Nothing, just a lot of f-ing bruises

I used to ski a lot when I was younger. A lot less snow over the past few years. ;/

Don't know about snowboard. But it looks stylish.

I have a little question too. I'm going to Mont-Tremblant next wednesday with some friends and I haven't tried skiing or snowboarding yet. Any tips on which seems easier to use for a first timer?

And by the way, Mont-Tremblant is for experts... I mean there are easy slopes, but most are hard, good luck if you have never done any before 8)

I started off on a snowboard thinking, it looks so easy, this will be fun. After falling on my face for the like tenth time, I went to skis. Been in love with skiing ever since. I personally think you have more maneuverability with skis, but that's just me. Plus the feeling of tucking yours arms to your side and speeding down hill is amazing.

Skiing is 10 times easier than snowboarding. Do you feel more comfortable standing on two feet or on one?
It's not really a great comparison now that I read it over again, but trust me, skiing is easier.

It's a lot more fun, especially for a first time, to really see progress. When I went skiing my brother went snowboarding. After 2 days I went down some easy slopes and really had a feeling of accomplishment while my brother was still struggling with making turns on the snowboard.
I think skiing is definitely easier to pick up at first anyways. In the long run they might be equally as challenging but getting the hang of skiing will happen fast.
