I got the typical spanking till about 11. then after that i learned to stay out of trouble

If I was a parent, I'd make my kid listen to homo bands like the Jonas brothers on repeat for an hour. That would teach them a lesson.

My neighbor played Disney music for about 2 fcking hours right after I got home from work. I wanted to kill them

I got beaten with anything within reach, and if there was nothing, then body parts would do.

Then I got beat for crying.

I wish I was joking, lol. xD I don't resent my parents a bit, and I believe it has made me who I am...who knows where I would've ended up without those punishments...

Ok firstly im Black so I have a Black Mother. When i was 5 or 6 i didnt get "Stop it or your going to time out" it was "muthafka dont do it no mo" then quite a few belt swings to the buttocks. I remember hiding all the belts in the house and having to go get a really skinny stick from outside and getting whooped with it. I also remember going to the grocery store and envying all the white kids because they mom's would be like "You better stop it" and the little kid would say something crazy like "leave me alone!" and the mom would just be like "you getting in timeout!". Now i always found that crazy. I looked at my momma and said what if i did something like that. She said i would be "farked up". LOl

My point is i think i turned out pretty well. I've avoided all types of bad things. I've never been in jail, never puffed reefa, got good grades. Its just about the total opposite of what every black kid in my neighborhood usually does. I plan to raise my kids exactly the same. Take no BS from them but still nurture them to be successful in life.

I got that after I outgrew the "time out" of sitting alone in the hallway.

I dunno, as far as I remember I never did anything really bad and I still haven't, the whole disappointed in me thing works well, I guess it's just me and how I was raised.

I got hit, whacked with a belt, electrical cord, wooden spoon, smacked, pretty much any punishment you can think of. It did me a world of good.

I get the feeling people that aren't punished for doing bad things when they are children, turn out to be crazy, uncontrollable and sometimes really disrespectful. Just my opinion.

im too old to be punished now if i screw up i got to big boy jail...
but when i was a kid i used to get the belt... a LOT
it was worth it tho... hehe
the weakest excuse for me gettin the belt was when i lit a matress on fire that one of my neighbors put in his yard with a FREE sign on it...
the funniest part was that i told one of my friends ill give him 10 bucks if he jumped in it...
and he actually did it... hahaha

I may be against capital punishment in a severe form, but I believe that a mild smack when a kid messes up can only be beneficial for him. I know that if my son ever does anything wrong, he'll get a smack for it. Not a full on whip-out-the-belt-50-lashes beating, but a smack to let him know what he did was wrong, and to remind him who is boss.

I've never been physically punished, when I was younger... no tv, no games, no computer etc.
Never really did anything "bad", my mother was always understanding, christian upbringing (stopped going to church when I was like.. 6), started drinking socially with friends at 15 or so, mom didn't mind as long as I was safe. Dad was always working and still is so he wasn't much of an influence, just the random "shovel some snow, fix the remote for my tv" from time to time.
