No, it's still illegal, the law says it's illegal to possess it, grow it, sell it or buy it. It doesn't say that you have the right to have it unless the authorities catch you. Then again, if the government give you a prescription for it, then it's technically legal to possess it.

I was just watching some documentary in the History Channel a few hours ago about the history of drugs in America and it mentioned that 11 states have already made it legal to posses small amounts of marijuana. (Don't really know what their definition of small is though)

OT: I personally don't use any drugs or drink or smoke. Not for any ethical reasons either. I've just never been curious enough to do so. o,O Who knows? Maybe that'll change.

Killing is legal in special cases, but it's still "wrong" because of moral reasons. Now this part confuses me, what do you mean by "wrong"? Do you mean wrong to have? I could care less if you had it or not. The government still sees it as illegal, which in their point of view, is "wrong".


The only reason marijuana is illegal is because the government can't put a tax on it.

The amount is more about intent to sell. I think if it's under an ounce you will just get fined, if it's over you get jail time. Not quite to sure though. And the reason they've most likely made it legal to possess a small amount is because of the amount of people in prison. If everyone who got caught with it was sent to jail, we would have no room in our prisons. Not like we have any room right now anyways.
