Another look at the Pure strength/fire Glaiver!
So i'm planning on making a glaiver... cause i always wanted one and i realized an alternative build that could be just as good or even better than the cookie cutter build we have now. + I want some input =P
SO, instead of the lightning as a sub tree go cold instead.
CONS:
- you can't run fast
- you can't teleport
- you have lower parry
- more sp is needed (may or may not be true)
PROS:
- you have alot more defense
- you can freeze
- you have cooler skills (haha get it... cooler)
Anyways, by going cold you can get an insane boost to defense, which imo is alot better than having a higher parry rate, but a downside is that it will require more mastery and sp. But, you can get frost nova which is a handy skill in pvm and can be really good in pvp against guys who arnt lvl 70 and bloody rich. The only downside really is the speed factor, you can't catch people as fast, killing mobs will be slower, and no teleport T__T... though something to think about, its really hard to run away when your frozen.
And of course you can always get both.
PS: YES i know about the whole you cant feeze me cause of new alchemy crap, but this build sacrifices speed for defense and with a high chance to immobilize your enemies.
EDIT: added a poll for the sake of adding a poll

Whatever tickles your pickle, its only 20k SP and 60 masteyr, true, but its also only 84 Phys AC, and may or may not be worth it in comparasin to lightning.
Lightning to 60 at cap will net you 15% bonus imbue damage and +54 to parry for 20,395, and the grasswalk series costs an additional 8k SP with book 3 at level 3 (59% runspeed) and max'd phantom.
The ice series costs around the same, with no bonus damage, and +84 phys AC rather than higher parry, not to mention the speed you lose from not having phantom walk and grasswalk.
One on one, ice is better becuase you SHOULDNT be getting nuked much... but in large fights its more valuable to be able to teleport / run quickly and parry well. In the end, it comes down to this: ice applies only to physical, and doesnt give damage or speed or teleporting, parry applies to magical and physical and lightning also gives damage speed and tele.
Which sounds better now?

Ice warrior, you build is exactly as planned like mine. But...the BIG but is...will the level cap be 150? If this is so, 100/100/100 is not really a good idea...

I agree with your opinion. It is just that there is a guide that suggested 150 glaive mastery, 100 fire and 50 lightning...
I hope Joymax can really tell us what's the final cap going to be instead of being vague and tell us in the guide that it is best to master just 2 skills
