Cant open Client file

Hi, i downloaded the silkroad file from the silkroad website, when i go to open the file i get an error message saying 'data string error'.

Does anybody know what this is?

dodgey downloaded file redownload it i had exactly the same problem plus it does'nt really matter at the moment as silkroad will not be back up until the 24th january

not a dodgey download... just that the game cant connect to the sro server, so it reads as an error... just wait till the 24th, then try running the game again

ok but im not sure your right not it does not need to connect to the internet until after the installation is complete iv installed it on a comp with no internet before then added the internet to that comp

dont worry, you can bet i'm right... was a problem that i was gettin for a while there (see post "Getting onto Silkroad") turns out that i wasnt connecting to the SRO servers, therefore no connection could be established between the execution file and the server info.... and the error box would always appear

fine ill take your word for it but i still think its a dodgey file i mean you don't spen hours downloading a file that need to connect to the net to install its after im near positive because thats when my firewall alert came up about something trying to connect to the net

oh, i see what you're talking about... no, it doesnt come up with an error when installing... the error comes up after installation, and trying to start the game

im a he and its because the servers are down for upgrade to SRO and a few other glitch sorting out thing lol

well it because the patch server is down, not because of the actual aege or xian servers are down.

LOL~~! Definantly new to the game....

The reason you cant play till the 24th is coz the game servers are closed till then, and a 3rd beta will be resleased.... HOPEFULLY~!
