The battle was long and taxing... but Cait successfully and single-handedly defended the Jangan fortress without a single fatality. All praise Cait! GODDESS OF JANGAN FORTRESS!

On topic - Was a very fun fortress war! No hard feelings to any SD union that I slaughtered.

Odyssey came close to loosing the Bandit Fortress. without the help of Avalon, Odyssey would have lost their fortress for sure. The gates and barriers were breached, the Towers were down, people were fighting at the Heart. Odyssey had a bit of pure luck when there was a major DC of combatants during the last hour.

I heard no guilds even signed up to attack the Avalon-held Jangan fortress ... was this true? The main group of Avalon was fighting at the Bandit fortress not Jangan.

So my guess is that by next FW that if Jangan is attacked by a big enough force to keep Avalon busy that there is a good possibility that Odyssey will loose Bandit Fortress. Much more unlikely would be for Avalon to loose Jangan. With all the defenses Avalon has in place, having just one person from Avalon hold Jangan for them like this past FW will probably work again.

The next FW should be interesting.

Your foresight is full of fail. You do know that Avalon and Odyssey aren't the only 2 guilds defending...there's 8 in the union...

Not this FW but the previous one...the guilds evenly split so that both forts could be defended. I'm sure it could be done again.

Hmmm isn't this all supposed to be for fun? Anyways even if people were on their "alts", they still can only be at one place at a time. One union is holding both fortresses: a significant accomplishment but one union still has a limit as to the amount of possible people in it. Skills and levels have a big impact on FW but so do simple numbers.

The Bandit Fortress was filled to capacity this FW. If your guild lost its Command Post and you died without a res and spawned in Jangan, or were late to FW you had a problem getting in because it was filled. This should be considered good thing because it shows that people are interested in participating and having fun in the Venus FW. But many people spent too much of the FW just clicking to get in.

I think the strategy for actually getting one of the fortresses is to keep Avalon UNION at the Jangan Fortress and away from the Bandit Fortress as much as possible. Again this should be seen as a good thing because it will give more people a chance to get in an fight in FW. When I left Avalon last August I know that a lack of competition was a concern among the leadership there. Hopefully that is no longer a concern.

The real prize and cash cow is Jangan Fortress, especially when compared to Bandit Fortress. It is probably too early so see real battles at Jangan Fortress on Venus but that is something to definitely look forward to.

Yamataka, you need to read man. First, TFS and it's union is nothing in our eyes. The bots are not a threat to us in pvp, I mean... four of us held of 20+ of them even when they had outside healers. The only thing they can do is get a ton of hammers on the objects and take those out.

Second, as Redd said, Avalon union is strong enough to split in half and guard both fortresses. I am sure that if Avalon stood at Jangan alone, it would still hold it at the end of the war, without a single door coming down. My question to you is this, if you know (since you already stated that Avalon union holds both forts) that Avalon union holds both, why would you suggest that other unions try and keep Avalon union at Jangan? I mean... why would we split the union in such a way that we would lose a fort, when we can easily hold Jangan?

Same topic, two forums.. Uhm, 3 more guilds (SD, Asy, Nin) attacking with 12 bot guilds, is not support..

To the Taka guy: Either way, which ever fort is being attack, it's best to keep the botters from even thinking they have a chance at getting either one. The only reason the bots managed to get as far as they did in bandit was because SD actually knows how to put up a good fight and took the majority of our time fighting. That pretty much left the bots free to roam around and destroy everything. Thats what no one seems to understand here. We can have a great legit vs legit fight which would be awesome.. Or, we can completely wipe out the all bots in 30 mins, like nearly every FW on venus, thus far. I prefer the legit vs legit fight, it's a great 2 hour battle. But it's hard to manage both.

And you need to think first

Is the point of Avalon on Venus server to satisfy their theoretical "male gorilla chest pounding egos"? Or was the intention of Avalon on Venus server to make the server a fun place to play SRO as it was meant to be played, without cheats and bots?

I was there with Avalon for the first Fw and for a number of later FW where it got darn boring because there was really no one significant to fight. The Bandit Fortress has been fun for the last three times. Much more fun than the Jangan Fortress ever was. This time at the Bandit Fortress both gates were down, the towers were down, and there was fighting at the Heart. It was fun enough for people to be on their "alts" at Bandit instead of their "mains" at Jangan. wouldn't it be awesome if we could bring that same fun to the Jangan Fortress?

It is my understanding that there are at least 2 other unions on Venus with this same philosophy as Avalon plus a number of other independant guilds, all of these guilds should be encouraged to get one of the fortresses.

Competition is what makes games fun. But there is no competition or fun if everything is a sure thing. If there is no hope that Avalon or Odyssey CAN loose their fortresses then there no point in attacking them ... and no fun. Right now I find FW fun and I think at least one of the fortresses could change hands in the next FW or two. Perhaps that is being overly hopeful or optimistic but at least it keeps things fun.

What people can't seem to understand is that I don't care if we lose the fortress.. BUT, and this is a realllllllllly big but.. it HAS to be to a legit guild. I welcome SD,Fable, anyone that wants to fortress to come take it. But when bots hammers, outnumber legit hammers by that great of a number, like the last bandit war, it's just not allowable to take the chance..

i agree here. same thing happen with BHA while we wanted to fight for the fort, then helped ava because it was decided that we cant let botters get fort; and same bs now. Every legit union should go and put up a fair fight for fortress , if another legit guild wins .. good. if not then it will unite us even more to take back the fort from the botter guild. and that will be fun, enjoyable fort war.
