Western Digital Portable Hard Drive

So i got this thing today, for about 80 bucks for the 250gb, planning on putting my junk in there since my laptops running out of space.


anyone know how i use it?


there's these other file things in there.

do i need to use em, or i can just make a new folder and stuff my junk in there.

just make a folder and stuff your junk in there
the files that are in there are probably manuals and other company crap or some kind of "locker" application that lets you put a password in your hd.

The pre-loaded files are usually just programs to help manage file transfers and they'll usually include a PDF version of the product's instructions and warranty guidelines in there as well. Sometimes a simple delete will not get rid of the files so a format would be necessary.

If you want to completely rid your external hard drive of all files:

Go to My Computer > Right-click your external hard drive > Select Format > Enable Quick Format > Format the hard drive > Close


That's what I remember anyway. Not using Windows so I may be off a bit, but that's generally how you do it.
