Viewing your in-game avatar?

There's gotta be some kind of setting for this, and I can't find it! I play on my laptop, and my gf plays on her desktop, and on her game, she can see an avatar of her character on the upper left corner of the game screen. On my lappy, where the avatar would be is just a black space. It's always been this way and I always thought it was an interesting feat, so can someone help me out please?

PS: I have no idea why my gf has it and I don't, especially since I know more of the game than she does. We both downloaded the update at the same time, so idk! xD

I know I'm not the only one because I've seen a couple of other peoples screenies that don't have it, but yeah, 99% of peoples screens have it, so you must be right..that sucks.

Laptops kinda lacks graphical performance so no wonder it's bugging. Though I can't see that avatar as a neccessary feature.

i have a desktop pc that is pretty good but i don't see the avatars either, but it doesn't effect gameplay so i don't care very much about it

Im having the same thing on my laptop. Also when Im in a 8 PT, the avatars on the players in the party is just blue. Not faded or anything if they are a few meters away.
