Dom's a close second to me, he can be funny, sarcastic, and a loller bringer. But also shows great effectivity when it comes to people running amok, especially against others. Able to point out their deepest flaws in one or two sentences. No matter how long you think it's been, when you cross the line, he will whistle you back down to earth. That's got to be worth something. : )

I agree with you. There is always going to be someone who stands up and finds the worst of a saying. Considering what dom said, was basically aimed at no one other than the girl in the video (as far as I'm concerned) and because he's a mod, people think that he shouldn't be able to say suck things, like everyone else. I don't know, this is just my opinion.

There is a connection ofcourse. Kanker is still cancer which is a deadly and terrifying disease.

What about all those other cursing words that are used on an even more regular basis huh?

"mongool" (down syndrom) This is a word used tons more and it's even a worse disease then cancer is. Teenagers call eachother this.. can be compared to the english "downy" except in england it is more of an insult then a cursing word.
"tyfus" (some old disease similar to cancer) Used a lot.
"tering" (same as above) Used a lot.
"krijg de pest" (Pest is a disease that I think is barely even there anymore - in our country).

De pest (a disease which ripped apart a ton of human mankind a long time ago) is probably the worst disease of all these. I'm sorry for being lazy and not finding the english meanings of the last few of my examples, but it is the TRUTH, it's REALITY, and it WON'T change.

But the last 3 diseases are rare. However does that mean it's ok to be used as a cursing word? Hell, "tering" rips your apart piece by piece, it's FAR more worse then cancer is. "pest" gives you huge black bumps all over and your limbs just DIE and fall off after a while. Vomit, diarrhea, fever, you name it. All in one package.

Just take "mother fucker". Do people even THINK of the actual meaning of this when they call eachother this? Whooping your ***** in your mum's ******??? (As far as I know, it can be both insulting and used within a group of youngsters).

I defenitely know there is a connection, but I just can't stand it if people who have (or have not) lost any1 to the disease can take it so personally, it's used right there and then, in a form of a cursing word. Thus making them attention whores. Step out in the right time and let yourself be heard!!
That's just how I think about it. And this has nothing to do with disrespect or anything like that.
These people know it has nothing to do with their family losses. (unless ofcourse intentional and said as if it IS intentional).

The fact that someone using it as an insult, mostly won't know if someone is gonna take it with a laugh, or by heart, is the whole reason why it's so wrong. Cancer is a disease that will eat you from the inside, and you can't do shit about it. You can only fill yourself with chemicals, and hope they kill the cancer before they kill you.

Tering etc, can all be cured/prevented these days, which doesn't make it right, but certainly gives it less impact, plus, how many family member do you have that died of that recently.

The word "mongol", is actually a racist word. Which makes it suck. Dr. John Down, the one whom labeled the disease, gave this name to it before he named it in the proper scientific way. The time he did this in, was one of a lot of racism, and barfights. He had seen maybe two or three children, that had the appearance of the mongolian race. They we're so convinced of the 'white supremacy' that people with such a disorder, had to be people from that asian mongolian race. Ergo he gave it that name.
We still call them the same, which is kinda wrong, as it still is racist really. But it can be a curse word nonetheless.
