Well, I like shooters, wRPGs, action games [Tom Clancy] adn adventure games, and I;m sorry, Xbox 360 just covers that so well.

I'm not into that much jRPGs or w/e PS3 has like Drakes, MGS4, Lair, Resistance, etc. and those games don't sit well with me.

$75 for a 320gig hdd on ps3, vs. $100 for a 60gig on xbox360, or even $150 for the 120 gig.
My measly 40 gig hdd will be replaced soon.

I think I found a local store around my parents home, where they sell a fitting HDD for the Playstation 3. Going to snoop around there somewhat and maybe I'll get lucky. After fiddling around a bit more with the Playstation 3, I cannot help but to love it even more then I already did. It's so versatile and it gives so many options for practically everything you could need.

Can't wait to get started on it.

As for my vote, it goes to ps3 b/c of better Linux support and homebrew community. Besides, software manufacturers haven't the time yet to unlock the ps3's full potential. Of makes me laugh when people here say that 360 games are porter over to the ps3, that's not exactly how it works in the development business. Look at the ps2. Graphics of games at it's release were crap. Now look at peter games for it, like FFXII. It's all about giving software time to catch up. So as for now, 360 seems better, but that will change.

So, ps3 ftw, and Linux ftw as well

you can't compare the current development situation with that of the ps2, since the ps2 was actually seperately developed for. The ps3, other then exclusives, is not. Easy as that.

The ps3 is a more powerful system hardware wise. It comes with Built in WiFi, the xbox doesnt. It has an internal power supply, the xbox has that big ass brick. You can have more wireless accessories active at once on the PS3. It comes with Blu-ray...xbox is gona have to switch to SONY's disks cause Toshiba realized HDDVD was out of date. The Controllers have lithium batteries, instead of battery packs. You can get motion sensitive controllers or you can get dual shocks. Xbox does have better online, but PSN is free...xbl isnt.

And the kicker of it all? The PS3 doesnt break as a result of being used. My ps3 once fell off a surround sound speaker, to the floor...never skipped, froze or anything...i just paused the game. picked it up, and kept playin. I was at a friend's house and his 360 froze because his roommate sat a heavy bag down next to it...


I have heard of several several people (including people in my console clan) switching from 360 to ps3. But i dont think ive ever heard of someone switching to a 360 from a ps3

But xbox has been longer in stores than ps3. That's why xbox has sold more. And I have to admit that ps3 is over-prized

The sales are higher cause it has been on shelves an extra year or so. And its cheaper, so people who dont care about the performance..the just want cheap entertainment will go for it before the more expensive system.

Its bigger cause its got more stuff that the xbox. With the built in WiFi and internal power supply. I used to favor xbox over ps2, but once the ps3 came out i say ps3>all consoles ever.

An RROD is not something you fix, it's an internal system error. It's not something every 360 gets, though at the start of sales it was quite common. Which isn't that much of a suprise, looking at how and why they releases this next gen console at that time. Recently bought 360's, like in a 1.5 year timespan, experience far less issues.

Toshiba got rid of HDDVD cause it failed as a concept, not because Blue ray reigned supreme. It still doesn't. Does blue ray have a better future? yes.

And if by addons you mean a wireless connector? you must be joking, i'm doing perfectly fine without one, won't ever miss it. Cable makes a connection more stable to, does the trick. The only addon i bought for my xbox is a second controller, suprise: you'll still need to do that to when getting a PS3.

You're talking about updates, how about turning your arguement around. Looking at achievement systems several online services etc, etc. Why bother updating a PS3 when a 360 does all that from the box? You could've spent that time gaming. (dont give me that Playstation home thing, atleast Microsoft ripped Nintendo, and not that failboat called secondlife).

Now, repeating, I hate it. But using these silly excuses to make a 360 look bad, is just wrong. Let's bring in the fact again, that PS3 is still not seperatly developed for, rather ported to. That and recent sales are quite the solid arguement. This also kills your arguement about performance. The PS3 doesn't outperform a 360. Not by the long run. Especially on ported games. Several tests can be found on the web. Does it have the capability? That could very well be so. But as long games are ported, full potential will never be reached. I'm not worried about 2mins longer loading time anyways. Graphically they're a match.

And to top that, NOW we will be expecting a drop in prices from PS3's, A little late sony, all those little kids found Wii's and 360's underneath their christmas tree.

Oh, and a PS3 being used as a supercomputer is hardly a sales arguement, you think your little 15 y.o. neighbour is gonna buy it just for that? Movie 2, 3, and 4 can be answered with a yes, though the 360 is a solid system, why bother. Never finished watching movie 5, so no clue.

It is a yearly payment, it is automactimally charged to the card you have with your account, trust me, your not getting it free, it's just a seamless payment method.

Lol don't use the future as an argument, you never know. (ex. Everybody thought Lair was going to be an epic game with PS3's 6 axis controller, but how that turned out.) Right now, content wise: 360 > PS3. Hardware wise PS3 > 360, but whats the use of good hardware with nothing to use it on? You keep arguing about the fact that PS3 has bluray, internal battery supplies, and built in WiFi. Ill give the bluray argument to ya. I only see the internal battery supply as a negative because it would just make everything inside the PS3 hotter, would it not? (I mean like its already "hot enough to fry an egg") And the WiFi shit, Nobody is complaining about not having built in WiFi in the 360. It may be better with built in, but its not a problem.

RROD for the 360 was a huge issue for the first generation 360s, but as time progressed it has been less and less frequent. (ex. RROD on the Falcon motherboard is rare and RROD on the new Jasper mobo is unheard of). You're exaggerating on the addons for the 360. The only addon we need for it to do what the PS3 does is the WiFi, which is 100$.

Cheaper doesnt mean shitty console; all my games run perfectly. Most people buy consoles based off the games that are available to it, not performance.. the console will run the gajme smoothly no matter what; thats what consoles are for. Performance? There's 3 versions of FF13 coming. FF13, FF versus 13 and cant remember the name of the last one. FF versus 13 follows steps of male character in same time with FF13. FF versus 13 looks a lot better than FF13 and that's good reason for buying ps3.

all i know is that every friend i have that has an xbox has problem out of them. I have never had a single problem out of my ps3...and i have literally beat the shit out of it (the plastic case is even broken)


if you do a side by side comparison of them, its impossible to say the xbox is a superior system. its just not. If it were, i would get rid of my ps3 and get an xbox.

its got less proccesing power, less ram, fewer wireless options as far as controlers/mics/keyboards, it doesnt have built in wifi, it also isnt compatible (that i know of) with linux or windows (well maybe windows since it the same company). yes the RRoD is not as major of an issue as it used to be, but they still have a problem with overheating and freezing. hell i was at my friend's playing madden on his 360, and it just shut down from overheating.

failure rate
built in wifi
built in bluetooth
more wireless options
more powerful processing, and a graphics engine that has only had the surface scratched.
the ability to run multiple OS
the other ability to double as a computer
The abiltiy of the ps3 to nullify your need for any other home entertainment, aside from a TV and some speakers.
Free online game play (tho inferior options to xbl)
better controllers (i base this on the power supply of the controllers)
the ability to use any USB accessory (jump drives, headsets, cameras, etc.), where as xbox HAS to use microsoft's products.


the argument that the xbox is better because it has better sales is dumb. of course it has better sales, its cheaper and a lot of people look at price and only price. and its had a extra year on the shelf.

and to be honest if you want to use that as an arguement, then the Wii is better than the 360 cause its sold nearly 10 million more units worldwide as of late 2008 than the 360.
