Regardless, SRO is a dead game. No end game content, nothing but a grind, costs a fortune to be decent, costs even more to be good, has serious player community issues. What is good about this game? :S

silkroad is a FACTUAL route in which merchants/traders delivered various materials from china to europe and visa versa. back then constantanople (i think its istanbul now) was the center of europe emipire, the heart of europe much like the uk france germany and spain roles of europe now.

there was no such thing as christianity it was before the time when christianity had become a popular religion and the main religion was catholic/jew

america was certainly not a country to even consider trading, i mean columbus came at like 1500 or something and with this map of the silkroad in the 1st century

My guess is that chin tombs will come out first during the first 6 months of next year, than probably another fort, and next year the islam race... unless Aion is becoming too popular and they loose too many players to that game. Aion was choosen as best game in Korea and I think that ksro lost his players leaving for that one.

Aion is from playNC, it will probably be paying like guild wars or LineageII, but compared to the silk it's cheaper than SRO actually.

Europe was also originally meant to be based on Roman/Greek mythology, but they changed it to Christianity to make it fit in with the Silk Road time wise.

I think you should perhaps travel back to the original silroad.

You can spit on joymax for a lot of things but their history knowledge of the silkroad is good, the silkroad was indeed going from china to Rome passing through arabian countries.


Their silkroad is situated around xiv or xv century but I don't think that the game is religion based. Call it races or civilizations, it's a fact that between china (jangang) and Istambul (constantinople) there were camel stops, some in Samarkand (check out on internet for views, the city of samarkand is designed with buildings of real Samarkand). But some trade routes went further to south not to the himalaya (karakoram) and it's probably that part that will be introduced, some parts of the silkroad went very far into actual India.

They made same mistake in ksro, too slow update cycle ... everyone quit there.

But on the other hand, too fast of an update cycle would completely turn away new players...no one would stick with the game if they were getting close to being high level, then it goes up another 10 levels and they are mid-level again.

It is already foreseen, when you install a new client you see the map of the whole game while you're waiting. I guess that Islam will fit on the map west of Roc, you can see the road already. There is also a kind of "heaven" that is foreseen, buddhist? starting in hotan. The turtle ferry, or perhaps the inactive blue stone left of the palace.
