Xbox 360 constantly freezes =(
My Xbox 360 is randomly just freezing after about 30minutes of play. When it freezes nothing works. I remove the CD, even the harddrive, and still it's frozen. I know it's not a heat problem because it is in a very ventilated area. Anyone else got this problem? If so, how did you fix it?
EDIT: I should also add that there is no RRoD.

Could be overheating cause even if there is notn by the vents there could still be dust in the them which could cause it to overheat, or it could be the precursor to the RRoD.

Just to test it, find a fan. Put the xbox with the bottom vent towards the fan with the fan on high. See how long you can play.
If you can play then it's overheating issue.
If you cannot play then it's probably a hardware problem.

My friend has this problem, and it would lock up after about an hour, then gradually the time went down, to it freezing every 5 minutes.
Couple of days later, he got RRoD.

Well we decided to send it in to microsoft. Unfortunatly they're charging us 120 or so bucks cuz we're not getting a ring =(.
EDIT: LOL at the video. I'm thinkin of just constantly turning on my xbox, letting it freeze, going again. Until I get the red ring. Then the repair will be free >=).

If your xbox has problems you will always have problems. The xbox you get from microsoft isn't yours, it's one someone else sent in that they fixed - that is built to fail again. For $120 you might aswell buy an arcade version (199,99) and use your old one's harddrive.
The new xboxs are built differently, they don't abnormally fail.

Well that's unfortunate, however I don't think buying a new one is an option right now...Even though the cost is not much more.

Yea if you do send it in, make sure you do one of these thing.
Keep the hard drive even if they ask you to send it.
Reformat the hard drive and send it in.
If you send it in without erasing it, somebody else will be gaming on your hard drive in the near future. I got my xbox from a Microsoft refurb company on ebay and I got somebody's hard drive with their account and shit. In the wrong hands somebody could have easily bought tons of games and stuff.
Buying a new arcade system sounds like a good thing too do. You get a new warranty and a better heatsink system.

Re: Xbox 360 constantly freezes =(
There are 3 motherboards for the 360 according to which 'generation' it is
First gen 360 (2006): Opus (correct me if I'm wrong), Uses 16.1 amps (correct me if I'm wrong), RROD is inevitable.
Second gen 360 (2007): Falcon, Uses 14.2 amps, 10-15~% Chance RROD (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Third gen 360 (2008, usually/always found on the Arcade system): Jasper, Uses 12.1 amps, <10-15~% Chance RROD
To check how many amps your 360 uses, look at the serial code label at the back of your 360, it should say how many amps it uses on the left side
