Gaige's Atheist Ideas
Gaige’s Atheist Ideas
Religion is a great practice, stabilizes civilization and prevents humans from doing more aggressive activities. Though I must say all forms of religion is fake. When you read further on to what I have to say, you should agree if you do not fear death anymore.
Nearly since the dawn of mankind, we have had what you may think of as imagination. This word is short for what your mental abilities are capable of, it is what you compose of from what you know and re-establish the information into what you brain may desire at the moment into mental images or something of your senses. We have the functionality of imagination to visualize our surroundings, and process everything around at a more vicious rate to be able to survive.
Now that I have explained imagination to you, now think of death. Do you really want to die? No, if you have a healthy mind, you should not desire death or any others in that case as well. Why don’t you like death? Simple, since the living creatures have roamed this Earth, from water to land even in the sky, we have had at least one thing in common, the fear of death. We don’t like death, because it contradicts with our urges to reproduce and multiply. We have a basic instinct to reproduce, and when reproduction is at stake, we will do anything to still be able to do it, and death in that matter equals no reproduction ability. Of course you wonder why people get surgeries on that situation on not wanting children, but you’ll notice they’ll still have sexual urges and want to reproduce even though you can’t. Some people believe the fear of death is a separate instinct. To you, it may seem you just don’t want to die, but to be and organism, you must survive and live, that is our goal. When death interrupts with living, we go berserk and try to stop it all cost, and you’ll see the prices we have paid for it as well in further readings of this paper.
Since we have accomplished the two fundamentals of nearly all sane religions, you can now realize that any form of religion is in matter of fact all insane to a degree.
If you any of you are Christian or Jewish or of some faith that believes in god(s), you may find me “evil”, but ask yourself this. Why is Gaige evil? What because I don’t claim there is a God, or is really just because I bring the fear of death back into you mind, and let you realize there is no afterlife, no heaven, nothing. I have asked myself many of times though, “why is not having a god so bad?” Well the reason is, remember what I said earlier, you fear death. If there is no heaven or afterlife you won’t live forever, see where I’m going? If you can’t live forever, you got to die, which is in our instinct we must avoid at all cost.
What makes humans and other animals different isn’t because a god chose us, it’s because we have the ability to mix our imagination with our instincts. When you mix the fear of death with imagination you can obviously tell there is going to be some change in what know and think daily. We come to the conclusion that there is god(s) that watch over us, protect us, and prevent us from death. Notice again that all religions claim to let you live forever, make life easier, and protect you from danger.
I have something in my hands that you may accept or refuse to believe. Do you remember before you were born, or even your earliest ages of development, no you can’t, and it’s impossible because your brain or parts of your brain that can realize don’t exist. Now think about it about, it kind of seems you just existed and nothing else, well that’s probably the cause of Adam and Eve story and many others, spontaneous generation. We know now that we came about because of evolution. I am now going to tell what you what death is going to be like, the epiphany of this whole paper. Sad to say you’re not going to realize when you are dead. Death is going to blank, you won’t exist, you wont think, dream, breath, and not even dream. It will be as the same before you were born, nothing and blankness, but even blankness is an over statement to what I’m trying to get across here. I remember when I was Catholic, I didn’t fear death because of heaven and the greatness of it. Now since I’ve truly come to understand what is right, it’s the same as finding out Santa Claus doesn’t exist. Santa has a wonderful fictional story, and sometimes you even want to try to believe, but once you find out the truth you can never turn back, no matter how bad you want to.
I’m sure no one is really going to drop their religion now, but I’m fine with that, even though when different beliefs collide and cause terrible mass deaths, it has brought civilization as you know to what we are today, I’m sure if we didn’t have religion, I may no be here typing this paper for you to read.
I also have an extra detail that is partially off-topic, but I have no doubt in my mind that all advance species of our universe have all gone through religions, because to be intelligent, the basics are the ability to integrate imagination with instinct. Though some other advanced species may have finally become smart enough and brave enough to admit to the fact there is no God. Hopefully all of mankind can come to the acceptance of it as well.
I wrote this a couple weeks ago in 30 mintues, I havent revised it yet or anything so dont criticize on grammer errors plz

i agree with you
religion is created to eliminate the fear of death, but sooner or later we have to grow up and face it

Re: Gaige's Atheist Ideas
Meh im not religious at all but im no atheist either u sound like my friend
. Its not annoying but i guess its how u look at things somethings cant be answer so yes religion was made that is y i cannot read Genesis in the bible it sound soooo FAKE but w/e right. We all know Big bang created the universe we always learned that the universe is infinite. If u can agree on that then u can agree that as humans there is really no limit to us as one but since ppl consider themselves seperated well yea. All inventions and so for comes from imagination then u get the trial and error then u get it right "knowledge" then u manifest it. To psychics to jumping off a 5 story building burned up and living its proven humans can do anything.
One problem though ppl aren't intune with themselves on a energy or spritual level thats why most of us are limited. Also the universe is speeding up now.(Tell me u don't notice that days go by insanely fast)
btw 2012 next spritual next in universe not the end of the world. Ian Lungold prove that already.

Re: Gaige's Atheist Ideas
Peradventure atheists are correct, they must explain two things with regards to evolution: the formation of cell and the formation of the proteins to create that cell.
Now, to say that they randomly formed requires a leap of logic much greater than any creationist as the odds of that happening are highly improbable. Considering that scientists are still desperately attempting to explain how such a thing could have developed naturally, most agree that as our knowledge of the universe stands right now, there must have been some type of an out-of-this world force to create it. Even Richard Dawkins acknowledges this. However, he claims that the out-of-this world force is most likely some type of alien.
With regards to science being a basis for the denial of God, consider that spontaneous generation was once considered scientific "law." If anyone says science has "proven" anything, they're simply wrong in that science can only help draw reasonable conclusions based on known data and can in fact prove nothing as there is an infinite amount of data available. In addition, consider the model of the atom that most of you learned about. I can almost guarantee you that the model you learned about in your high school science class has now been shown to be inaccurate. Consequently, science has thus far even failed to provide an explanation for the most fundamental building block of life, yet atheists claim it can prove the nonexistence of God? Who is really making logical fallacies here?

Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
But He loves you.
He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!

Where did you learn that the universe is infinite? When i think of the universe, how it started and how its going to end and everything. Maybe its in some kind of cycle. Like maybe the universe will close in on itself and create another big bang and everything will start over again (not exactly but the universe itself). Maybe this universe is in an "ocean" of millions of other universes. Its fun to think about that stuff lots of things are possible.
I think one of the only ways we will ever stop fighting with each other is when we find (or they find us) another intelligent civilization. We'll be so shit pants that we'll forgot about all our differences and only worry about them, know what i'm saying lol. We would want to show them our good side. We wouldn't want them to see our bad side first. Have to have that good first impression so i can get in bed with ET.

I think u might be getting confused with galaxies. Star, planets, solar systems, galaxies and then the universe. If u know and understand the Mayan Calander then u know their Personal Canlander 260 days are based and calc. on flow of creation and since the universe created all then well ur right. Also the universe "conscious" is evoloving it has 9 stages according to Mayan and currently i do believe we are in stage 8 stage 9 ends around October 2011. Its what i read and look at 6hr video on it and its so accurate its put a little fear in my heart. Also not afraid of death all it is, is that the body stops working just like when a car break down do the driver stop moving i think not^^ maybe there is no afterlife if u go by astrolgy then we reincarnate 12 times and each time u come back u move thru the Zodiac signs. Ex im a Virgo so i'm in my 6th life (if u believe it). Point blank we one with nature and ppl need to start being Guardians of Earth instead of destorying it.
Lastly thread maker what u did was not wise thats one thing u dont do is say ur opinion bout religion because Atheistism is also a form of religion my friend so u are really no different^^

Re: Gaige's Atheist Ideas
We all know Big bang created the universe we always learned that the universe is infinite.
The universe is finite, not infinite, it was created some "finite" years ago. The universe is made up of 3 finite things, matter, time, and space. As one can see, the universe must be created by something without time (timeless), thus making it eternal. If it is eternal, it must be infinite, and if its the Creator, it must be God. Adding on, the universe changes, and time is the measure of change. How many changes have happened before right now? If you claim an infinite number of changes (which is impossible because you can not have an infinite amount of finite things), it is a logically impossible to conclude we could ever have reached this moment in time. In a world of cause and effect (which we live in), there can not be an infinite regress (an infinite amount of cause and effect reactions to get to a certain cause).
Time cannot be eternal.
This thing that always existed would be considered Eternal, having transcended time, space, and matter, being everlasting, having always existed. If you argue this is impossible, I would argue the contrary; it is impossible for this Eternal 'thing' to not exist, because the alternative is that nothing existed, which could only produce nothing. So, something always existed, and is therefor Eternal.
Now, for something to be Eternal, it can not consist of time, because time must have had a beginning. We exist in a universe of causality, so an infinite regress is impossible; there could not have been an infinite amount of time before right now, because we never would have reached this moment in time. That means time had a beginning, and whatever created time exists without time, beyond time, in timelessness; Eternity.
So, this Eternal Creator, created time, and the universe. This Eternal Creator clearly is extremely powerful, because the energy of the trillions of stars in the known universe were created by this Creator. And obviously, the Creator is extremely intelligent, having created an intelligent being such as mankind and a world in which to populate with it.

i'm pretty sure the atom model has not changed since the 1920s
and i'm pretty sure without science you would still believe the earth is flat or maybe dead from malaria

Re: Gaige's Atheist Ideas
I kinda skimmed through your post there Gaige, and I have to disagree a bit. Personally, I am an atheist as well, but I have a different opinion on why people are religious. At first, it may be a fear of death, but I think it's more of a backwards concept; it gives them a reason to live.
Personally, for me, I have not found a deeper meaning to live, than to just experience life and treasure it. There is a deeper understanding I long for in this universe, but obviously, we can't become a global power and set out to do greater things at this time. There's too many conflicting factors.
The religious people though, they've got a reason to live, for "God." They depend on him to reveal the light after death and reaching heaven, etc. They have a reason to live, but it's just somewhat different from ours, and in my opinion, a bit far-fetched.
Agreed?

Re: Gaige's Atheist Ideas
I agree on some and most of your topic.
Although I still try to believe a bit.
I'm agnostic.

Joymax, what a joke. (Thanks to Grandpa for the sig)

Re: Gaige's Atheist Ideas
We have religion on the right, we have atheism on the left, and we have the explanation of natural phenomena based off of laws of nature in the middle screaming; "Ah damn it, here we go again!"
Maddening
