Modem Help - Linksys

So yeah, i kind of forgot my password to access my Linksys modem on the web.

looks like this

So is there any way for me to like retrieve the password, like a sort of password retriever thing?


since i need it to go into my router where i can portforward this thing, so i don't lag while playing on starcraft over the B-ner >.<

Try doing a factory reset. There should be a very small hole with a reset button in it on the bottom of the router; use a needle or something to poke at it, and then you can access your router at 192.168.1.1 with password 'admin' again.

If you don't want to reset, then disconnect your router from your modem and hook it up directly to your PC with an ethernet cord. You should be able to use the default login settings to recover your settings.

If your settings are untouched (pw/id settings) it would be

ID: *BLANK* (yea, it's blank)
PW: admin

Untouched, many linksys have no password...

leave both blank; a good start if a reset isn't feasible... but why wouldn't it be is beyond me.

My Linksys came with a CD that I use to reset it. Just run that if you have one.

Or you can try the blank or admin passwords.

oh ok, i see that the people i asked from school today is to reset it, since i lost my password and maybe the ID too.


So i guess i kind of have to set everything again >.<
