Elaborating on JustKill's comment: The reason the Soviet had bigger atomic bombs because the Soviet delivery systems were not as good as American ones, so they had to compensate in size. Eg. Make a bomb so big that even if it missed the target, the blast radius will cover the target.
Americans had also argued that Soviets were planning to use nuclear weapon against civilian population. Because no military targets will be as big as a city, therefore no need to make such big nuclear bombs unless you are going after the civies.

Germany meant to take Britain, thus they tryed to conquer the air, but they couldn't, and no one back then could had taken Britain by sea, even if you got on the Island you would have to keep supplying and sending in reinforcements, and there is only a few aviable months when one can cross the english channel without being crush by the weather. Germany did not even try to take Russia till the failed attempt at Britain, if they couldn't go west they'd go east. So to correct your statement, there weren't no German soldiers in Britain because they couldn't get them there anyway.
