there's a mana cycle ring (outside, yellow-white) that's supposed to be there after you use mana cycle. Then it goes away, but looking at the buffs, he clearly has not used it and it is still there. The inside ones are the tambour.

Attacks do that as well. Most of the bard skills are bugged like that, it can happen with tambours too.

Noob much. well not really if you really think about it. I have high level to power.
Why would i wasted 1, 2 premiums tickets and pick pets for 2 3 months to get to 80.

Auto recast isn't botting.

I've seen programs that just macro skill bar, skill, and time. Ex F4 4 15 for mana cycle if it was set to F4 bar slot 4.

Ok, then where do you draw the line? Does botting have to be when someone uses an actual 'known' bot program like isrobot or other ones? A bot is just a third-party program (meaning not actually part of SRO) that controls some or all of the SRO user interface to make your character do stuff automatically.

What about a macro or program that automates the process of swapping your skill bars and casting a skill, or one that automates the process of purchasing/destroying D2 blades and selling the wind2 elements for profit? Wouldn't that be botting too? I wouldn't say botting is just auto-leveling your character with a program, although that's the popular use of bot software.

i don't think we ever have an actual topic that everyone talking about the topic, instead of going off all over the place "omg bot, cheat, ban them 0.o". This is the internet after they get ban IF they want to come back they just make new account, and if ban IP they just fake IP and make a new acc as well. Nothing is absolute on the internet (sorry i'm off topic myself)

As long as it's not Autoit - for example, people with G15 keyboards or N52's - JM has never come out and said NO, you cannot use those, nor has SRF expressly forbade those "third party programs".

We've had a similar discussion before...a video card driver from Nvidia is a "3rd party program" and suppose it lets you see more of the screen. Is that an advantage? Come on...just because someone buys a 9800GTX or something and someone else has an old 7100, which has outdated drivers...that's part of the operating system. Macros, no, they aren't, but with a keyboard that's designed to include that feature...what then?

Now if someone on olympus had a macro that allowed faster weapon swapping (and good luck with that, it's ALWAYS slow) would that be against the rules?

In my mind the number of people with macros that have enough skill to actually program them for something usable, and can take advantage of it is very small. Compared to bots that don't require a lot of skill and can be used by lots of people. I think unless someone draws more attention to it, it's a very minor issue and so hasn't been addressed by SRF or Joymax.
