I once had a person come to my school and explain the dangers of porn (Weird I know). He said this is one of the more common reasons for rape. The fact that; being able to see naked women on the internet is so easy, why shouldn't sex. Therefore the person who watched the porn just has a selection of women he could rape and rapes one. Sounds totally stupid, but is true. Scary.. but true.

This is stupid, has been debated a lot not only about sex but about violence, only weak people can succomb to this kind of things, those that already have the desire in them, the game,film,photo ..., is only a way to awake their need,desire,w/e ... a little earlier than it would have.

Do I have the desire to kill people ? No.

Exactly. It takes a unique type of person to commit these disgusting crimes. It is not something you wake up one day and say, "I think imma rape someone today." The people that do these things have been abused; physically, sexually, emotionally or a combination of the three. I dont just mean by the parents. A lot of the time they were picked on growing up and in school. There are a million reasons that we could say this is why they do it, but it comes down to the individuals psyche. They all had a "breaking point" that pushed them down that path. Porn does not cause people to want to commit rape. If it did then I am pretty sure at least half the people on this forum should be wanting to rape someone at anytime now. I grew up on violent video games and I enjoy them, but IRL I try to avoid violence as much as I can. I have watched porn and it didnt make me want to get force someone to do it with me. Yes I admitted it and I am not ashamed of it, I have watched it with my wife as well (now thats arrousing ). The mentality of a great deal of people is that "monkey see monkey do" this is why people think porn is a bad thing and that violent video games are the devil for brainwashing your children. Porn is a way for men and women to stimulate themselves and live a fantasy for a period of time. Violent video games is a way for kids and adults alike to show that they are a "badass". Think about it, why do most people PVP in Silkroad? To say hey I love to lose? Or is it to make a strong character and beat the hell out of your opponents?

Porn is not a deamon that infects the person, the person already has the desire to do what they want no matter what it takes.

A friend and i once had a discussion on the things we would do in a lawless land and of course sex came up. He said if he saw a hot chick and there were no laws murder/death everywhere he's go for it. Now this is not an ugly guy with self-image problems he's a pretty big dude who can get tons of girls and can probably bench well over 300 easy. He applied the reverse to me, I didn't answer...

There is a very strong duality when it comes to the male sex drive. These are the social restraints combined with physical drive. We see things like child/adult rape and when turn our heads in disgust but probably 50-70 years ago raping certain women in certain situations was ruled as a boys will be boys. Go back 100 more years and we see it as regular custom for men in their 40's-50's to marry girls between the ages of 12-16 in fact this was common custom amongst some very respectable men in history, and wives probably from the 1950's in back were expected to perform without questions.

OT: No. Rape is not an act of sex. It is an act of control, domination, and power. That is the high. If it were just about getting off the guy (or girl) could easily just masturbate. That applies to most rapes. The kind of rapes where the chick is passed out and the guys just jumps on it, thats more a, he's a desperate loser kinda thing.

That being said the type of person that would rape would already have a different process of thought that most people and porn would not change those thoughts. Pornography can act is a stimulant, like a catalyst but it needs certain feelings and emotions in place in order to get the rape reaction to take place. If the person is intent on having sex with a child and is watching porn to hold him over that porn won't make his intent to have sex with a child go away. Whether or not the lack of satisfaction gained from just watching porn contributed to a heightened need to follow through with his intent is indeterminable and unimportant because the intent is still in place. The catalyst to such an act could come in a hundred different ways from just watching a child to smelling baby powder or something. The point is that if there is intent then there is a need to follow through and the only thing that can stop that is self control.

Im certain that pedophiles and rapist walk among us and we see them and talk to them all the time, the only difference is they have enough self-control to not let there intentions get the best of them...
