I'd like some help with some things.
First off, I read that helpful guide on SP, but I'm still confused about SP.
So what is a "Gap" and is it really needed at all?
Also, is there a time when you stop gaining SP. Like if I hit the level cap, will I stop being able to gain SP?
How permanent is your character build? I know stats are set in stone, but what about all your spells/abilities?
Some general questions.

So what is a "Gap" A gap is the differnce between your lvl and your skills lvl. So say your lvl 15 and your skill lvl is at lvl 10. That's a 5 gap
and is it really needed at all? Yes. The gap enables you to gain more skill points per kill while sacrificing exp...meaning you level slower.
Also, is there a time when you stop gaining SP. Like if I hit the level cap, will I stop being able to gain SP?I don't think so.

Re: Some general questions.
When you kill a monster you gain XP and SP but the amount is not fixed, it depends of the gap. The higher the gap the more SP you gain, but less XP. Gapping is a way of gaining SP. It's possible to level up a character with zero gap but you just have a couple of skills. So yes, if you want a build with lots of skills you definitely need to gap.
You always gain SP even at highest level, so don't worry. When you are level 90 and all your skills are maxed up you can already start gathering SP for a future update when level 100 will be available.
The only fixed things in the game are the choice of european or chinese character, and the distribution of the mastery points in intelligence and strength. There is a special quest when you reach level 20 that allows you to level down masteries and skills but you have to drop cursed hearts (easy) and it costs a lot of gold (difficult). The quest is available at the potion trader in any town.
