That's the first reason. The second reason is the goal of Venus server. It's been promised that it will be a server for legit. That's why from the beginning till now, there's only a war legit VS bot. As the bots weakened the peace in Venus increases. Legit became too strong. Only 8/8 party could beat all 20 bots out there. The bots then got bored and gave up.
And when a world become peaceful, it also generated the boredom. Legits are forced to join the Confederation, since they don't want their life to be treat as in hell. When they are in Confederation, they are friends with other guilds. Friends can't fight each other so there isn't any guild war. Even if there is, it's just a friendly guild war, there is no real fight, no rob each other...
If any guild can keep at rate 1 trade run per day, 3 guild wars per week. There will be no such thing as boredom exist.

The life of the game is in players' hands. If players don't even know what cause it dying, can't expect them to keep it alive.

That's one of the problems in the Confederation. There are those, mostly new people, who take it as one encompassing society where you can hold each others hands all the time. Well, it's not - only against bots we should help each other, other than that, you can do whatever you want.

Of course, there are rivalries between guilds in the Confederation - it's just kept under the radar. There's a deep grudge between Avalon and BHA but it has been kept from each other lately. There's hardly any conflict between legits that can stir any sort of motivation, other than cases where you don't know who you are against with, such as in job wars.

On top of that, add in the recent management hiatus from Blade and BHA. People will set aside rivalries and focus on the internal conflict. Now, I'm not saying that's bad. It's just that the help that nonunions give to others might come across as a lasting peace sign.

Bring the horse to a complete stop.
Step2
Holding the reins in your left hand, put both hands on the saddle pommel or on the horse's neck.

Stand up in the stirrups.
Step4
Swing your right leg over the horse's rump. As you bring your leg over, move your right hand from the pommel to the cantle, or back of the saddle.

Ok I'll say it. You don't play in Venus, but I'm not saying gtfo. You have a valid point about friendly guild wars and not wanting to rob friends in a trade run, but how do you even know that is occurring in Venus if you don't even play the server?

I'm probably the most inactive player in Venus. However, almost every time I log in, I go out Samakrand south gate and see several or many people PVPing. A majority of the time, I see people in union at least mentioning a trade run or two, plus occasionally someone globalling about it.

Granted, trade runs could be more frequent, but I highly doubt they only happen when I log in.

Why do so many people seem to keep basically saying that botters make this game fun, that if they leave the server it will be boring?

Legits in the server still party together. They still hunt uniques together. They still job together. I guess one thing that could help Venus (well really ANY server) is for people to get over the whole "friends" thing and fight each other. Is it so wrong to rob a guildmate in a trade run? How about a unionmate? With the job alias system, you're not supposed to even know who the other person is. With the help of things like rev6, it's easy to find out, but that's not really supposed to exist.

Even with my inactivity in Venus, I see plenty of jobbing. I think it would increase even more if people would realize the job system is hunter vs thief vs trader, and not guild vs guild or union vs union.

Of course there's no harm in doing a union trade run, but there should also be no harm in going against each other.

I'll assume during the day a lot of people work or go to school. Of course the server will be more lively in the evenings. I've gone to donwhang several times and have seen plenty of people in town and even some PVPing, but most of that is in Samarkand. Does it really matter if the Samarkand PVPers are noob (low level) or not? There's activity.

When I go out grinding (mind you I'm only lvl 36) I always see other people grinding. Sometimes it's bots, sometimes it's actual people. I always see union messages going out about slots opening in parties at wing tribes or chasers or the like. So people ARE out there.

Personally, I think one of the problems with PVPing is everyone seems to want to do it in the same place, regardless of level. You have lvl 20s PVPing next to lvl 90s. Why does everyone have to PVP at Samarkand south, or Donwhang/Jangan south before the euro update?

I think there are plenty of people at lower levels who would be interested in PVPing, but they end up getting hammered to the ground by all of the high levels.

Guild wars are one thing, level doesn't matter, but it's hard for lower level players to PVP when some 90 wizard decides to drop an AOE nuke on them for fun.

No, BHA died. Fable union is basically replacing Blade union. Avalon union strong as they've always been. There's a new wave of people on chasers, which means a new wave of people capping. Nobody is dying.

i didn't read all 4 pages, just the first one. i didn't know this was here or i'd have posted earlier. i tend to stay out of this section because drama gives me hives.

no, i am not quitting SRO. yes, i am more inactive atm, but mostly because i work a commission-based retail job and it's the holidays. yes, i am playing WoW. no, i am not abandoning the BHA.


but it's not because i still love this game the way i used to. i don't. i have stayed with SRO for over 3 years because of the community of people that the BHA has become. i moved from Xian to Venus because i couldn't stand the bots. now i am disgusted with venus because i can't stand some of the legits. but it is the BHA, the family, that keeps me from ever giving up on SRO forever.

true, BHA has suffered huge losses to its higher-lvl core. many have moved servers, changed games, or dropped off the face of the earth completely. but for as long as there is a BHA on Venus, i will be there to help us out of this slump however i can.
