Leaving my dog in the kennels?

Post by SneakyBanana »

Well iam going away to Florida in two weeks for 3 weeks and i have to leave my dog into a kennel during that time, the problem is he has never slept anywhere but my bed since i got him 2 years ago and he hates dogs.

Has anyone been in the same situation, was your dog fine?

He is a 2yr old staffordshire bull terrier.

After leaving college at 17 I worked in kennels for a few months. I think if your dog isn't good with other dog, he might not like it. I would personally look for someone that could either house sit your dog or look after him, if that isn't an option then look for a kennels where you know your dog will be well looked after. The best kennels are the ones that have been recommender to you.

I always wanted a Dog, but I work irregular hours, so lack of time always held me back, no sense in getting a Doggie if I can't play around with it, or give it the attention it needs and requires. One day, one day I will have my own Dog. And it will be a Berner Senner. :3

My family is leaving for Queensland for 10 days this Christmas, and we are leaving the cat and dog in kennels, so I feel you.

My family has used a kennel in NSW or Queensland, not sure, and it is huge, the pets came back healthier!

I think it just depends on the actual kennel.

Good luck tho, I hope it turns out well, I understand how you feel.
