Post by djanvier »

We'll Hi guys....Im a bit stuck on my homework atm. I need 5 questions to get it done we'll here are the questions, Hopefully ill get some answers ;D

1) The sum of 2 numbers is 46. One number is 12 more than the other. What are the numbers?

2) The Mackenzie river is 1183 km longer than the St. Lawrence. The sum of their lengths is 7299 km. How long is each river?

3) The length of a rectangle is 5m more than its width. Its perimeter is 90 m. What are its dimensions?

4) The number of frost-free days per year in Quebec City is 18 less than the number in Halifax. The total number in both cities is 292. How many frost-free days are there per year in Halifax?

5) The maximum life span of a brown bear is 10 times the maximum life span of a mouse. The sum of their maximum life spans is 33 years. What is the maximum life span of a mouse?

Side note....As alot of you may think, I Kinda suck at math. Its only Grade 10 math lawl. I just cant get it in my head. Anyone Willing To Help? Start Answering ;)

How is this grade 10? it's basic arithmetic. You need to learn this on your own if you have any hopes of graduating.

il do number 2

The Mackenzie river is 1183 km longer than the St. Lawrence. The sum of their lengths is 7299 km. How long is each river?

7299 Minus 1183 = 6116
6116 Divided by 2 = 3058

So the St. Lawrence is 3058 Kilometres Long (3048)
And the
Mackenzie is 4241 Kilometres Long (3048+1183)

im not too sure but here goes

292 : 2 = 146

so now they are even
146
146
i add 9 to one and Sustract 9 to the other

so 146+9= 155 (Quebec City)
and 146-9= 137 (Halifax)

155-137=18 ^^

1) The sum of 2 numbers is 46. One number is 12 more than the other. What are the numbers?

The sum is that like Plus? or is it something diffrent lawlz

well here goes

46:2=23
12:2=6

23+6 =29
23-6=17

17+29=46,
and 29-17=12

To be honest, it's much easier to use algebra.

M=Maximum Life of Mouse, B=Maximum Life of Bear

M=x
B=10x

M+B=11x
33=11x
x=3

M=3

what the ****?

why don't they make those things easy like 1+2??

**** maths. just makes us do + and -, then I'm happy...

they make stuff so hard these days, and I don't even need all that shizzle... like I would suddenly stand in a supermarket going like: hmmm.. a swiss chocolate bar is 20 cents more expensive then a bag of crisps.. together they are €1.40...

now how much do they both cost??

there are a brazillian options, yet, only 1 answer is good...

so, what the ****?
