Rules clarification

If it is against the rules to sell an account for in game items/gold, or to trade accounts, then please clarify that in the rules. It currently only states that selling accounts for cash value is against the rules. That, to me means "real life money", and does not prohibit trading and selling for in game gold.

Please clarify this, and don't just lock a post.. because scrantoms post did not break any clearly stated rules.

I don't really want to start a discussion, I'm simply asking for the rules to be clarified, and re-written to show that clarification. If it is against the rules sell accounts, simple as that, then it should be stated in the rules just like that.

Forgive me if this should have gone somewhere else, I just figured it'd get noticed by the right people here.

I think exchanging anything in an in-game sense for real money, whether its ingame gold, accounts, or items, is against the rules. If someone really wants to do that, they should go to ebay or something. Somewhere where ryoko isn't liable if joymax decides to randomly start tossing out class action lawsuits.

Right. That was clearly expressed in the rules.

However keeping things in game, hasn't been expressed. example: Buying an account with in game gold. No real world money.

If you're talking about the rules of the game, and not this forum, then just read the EULA.

i think he is probably talking about the locked thread where someone was asking for in-game gold for an account. The info was deleted and replaced with the typical citation of the forum rules, but it was clear that the individual was looking for in-game gold not real money.

I may be wrong, but I think that is the issue in question. We all "know" sale of anything for real money is against the EULA and the forum rules, but what about the sale of an account for in-game gold...nothing that I know of against it in the EULA...

so what is SRF's stance on this, especially since the thread in question was locked.
