Computer freezes at startup

So, today when I got home, I turned on my computer and when it gets to the loading bar, it froze. I know what's wrong, I have a corrupted or missing file. I tried System Recovery, but I don't see any solution. HELP?!

Have you tried using a recovery partition from like 3 weeks back? That should replace the file, if not, you could always try to repair using the CD, or Safe Mode, sincer you didn't mention that.
