Gundam 00 Season 2 [Official Thread]

you know what. SEED was the FFX of the gundam series. Fans like me were used to a gritty war epic between factions controlling giant robots. The focus was on the conflict which minor focus on the characters because the whole point was that in the face of the whole ordeal they were very small even if they did accomplish alot. Always heroes on both sides but never enough to change the war itself.

SEED was a drama and like FF the focus was no longer on the BIG picture it was on characters, and the characters were made as whiny and annoying and young as possible. Sure there was a war going on but what does that matter if Main whiny teenage boy doesn't hook up with main whiny teenage girl whose prone to crying alot, then again so is the boy so thats probably wy they want to hook up and have whiny teary sex... but i digress.

If you liked FFX you probably liked SEED, if overly excited characters and melodrama are yoru thing you will like SEED, if bright colors and mysterious romance is your thing you will like SEED.

If you want a war epic between to groups of people fighting with giant robots you will break your TV upon looking at SEED and wonder if you lost your balls just from staring at it for too long...

I agree with you on the romance part. It was very bad, i have to admit. The whole char of Lacus was very badly handled.

00 second season first episode was pretty weak if you ask me o.O

afaik, the ending of Seed was that Athrun was supposed to die, and Kira was going to lose a couple of limbs, or was it the other way around? :p. But since the fan base in Japan was so massive and they didn't want anything bad to happen to the main characters, the director was pressured to alter the ending.

i suggest watching the Original Gundam series, the time of Amuro Ray and Char Aznable

and ya i wanna see them in full control also, but that is very unlikely. they may be good challengers to the A-laws and MANY villains, but i highly doubt that Celestial Being will be in strong control of the situation as they were in the first season.

So........... they decided to kill Lockon in the first season and now they have a new one which looks completely the same, even with the same voice actor? By the way he reeks of a traitor and Saji needs to pilot a Gundam.

Not to mention, Lockon said his whole family was killed due to suicidal bombings and he only referred to his sister Amy, never heard about a brother before. And here I am thinking somehow Lockon survived and maybe had a head concussion and is now suffering from memory loss... Talk about back due to popular demand...

Well I personally thought that the OP&ED sucked... UVERworld is still UVERworld but I thought the OP didn't clicked as well as Daybreak's Bell from Season 1. While somehow the ED reminds me a lot of Bokurano, since the singer is the same, but still...

the start of this season from what I can gather so far is focused more on the characters so you can tell what the four years have done to them, how its affected their motivations and how it's going to affect where things go from here on out.

Wipe out every impression you got of recent Gundams from SEED. I watched SEED but it was so bad that I didn't even got myself past 1/2 of the first season. Which is why I haven't got myself to watch 00, but I'm sure as hell glad that I watched 00 until recently, thought that I would give it a try since Code Geass is over. It's sure as hell totally different from SEED, no repetitive fight scenes lol. Hmm now that you remind me, there isn't actually any lovey-dovey stuff going on at all with any of the characters, just conflicts, misunderstanding, difference in opinion, etc. No frigging Bermuda love triangle BS.
