I do believe that they wont go up for the cap anymore but since the sosun items are all going over 1 billion, what can we do?

Simple. Basically get the idiots at joymax to set up a new NPC , selling Special items for 100million and the resale price at 100%, or even 95% if they want to suck out some gold.

So when theres the npc, if you are going to buy something for 5 billion, instead of buying 4 pots at 1 billion each and risk getting scammed, all you need to do is to buy 50 of that special item from the NPC and just trade it. After that, the guy with the special items just need to sell it to get the cash and everyone live happily after.

Only problem is.. whether joymax can be bothered to do such a simple thing.

Or joymax just make no limit in trades

Congrats you're the 1456747584368754375th guy to suggest that. You win a million dollars.

Now for the 1456747584368754375th time, let me repeat myself. Theres a reason why they bother setting caps , because you HAVE to do it.

I cant be bothered explaining into details for a guy like you who probably wont even read it so yea thanks for your suggestion.

Whats the diference? Please explain? In bouth way you will be able to sell higher than 1bil. Your way you will have to buy stupid NPC and items and then sell them back, so whats the fu*kin point? Why dont just raise to 9.9bil trades?
Is it problem with coding, or some shit like that? Or its just they didnt meant for anything to be more than 1bil, in this way your metod sux anyway.

Best way:
- always have your guard up
- stop being naive
- stop being greedy for suns
- stop being greedy for power
- always know that, if JM increases the gold cap, scammer will sell a price higher than that cap. Why? Because their intention is scamming, not selling the sun, and there will be sure someone fall for it for being greedy.

Exactly. IMO there is no known way to stop you from being scammed, back in 60s and 70s cap the sos items were around 5 to 10 mil if i remember corectly and they still tried to scam you by open a stall then changed the prices and some other ways. So if now suppose JM raises the limit up to 10 bil in exchange, you think there 's no more scamming?

Exactly. The most I've ever had was 140 million. I know it's not that hard to make gold in SRO, but to drop 4 billion on an item? Come on. Sun shouldn't be that expensive. Gold buying FTL.

To stop scamming just remove the limite of 1b when u stall an item. Make it 999b or w/e coz 1b is dumb these days.

Or just remove stall, exchange, so each person will survive with their own resource and use npc items.

Simple answer, No.

All you would need to change is a couple of lines of code to allow an extra digit or 2.

Maybe if they store the amount of gold in a string instead of an int (I highly doubt it).

A 32 bit unsigned integer can hold up to 4,294,967,296. They're probably using 32 bit integers, so I guess they could raise the gold cap to 4 billion, but certainly not 10 billion.

you know, the 1 bill maximum is there for a reason.

No item should be worth more than a billion. The hardest thing to achieve in SRO should be havind a billion, but thanks to the goldbots/goldbuyers, a billion is not even close to being worth what it should be.

Well in his defense, he posted the "what's the difference" post before I posted the thing about 32 bit unsigned integers.

Well if that's true, then the max they could raise the gold cap to would be 2,147,483,647.

You're an idiot. Make 3 +7s and you made yourself a bil. You call that buying gold? Or getting a sun item/som weapon drop and sell it for <insert something that is around a bil> call that buying gold as well?

Admins, obviously flaming member is obviously flaming.

+7s are hard to make, hence the reason they are expensive. On Olympus, they are about 250m a piece, assuming its full blues with good %s. You spend plenty of gold trying to make +7, and plenty of gold trying to make all the %s good. If it was easy to make 3 +7's to get 1B everyone would have 1B. Sun/Moon drops would be the easiest way, but again, expensive due to extreme rarity. Also, I said 90% of people, NOT everyone. Sure, people get suns, but ask people that have 1B if they got a sun/moon drop. On Olympus, its quite often NO.

Try not to insult members based on their opinions. I'm not an idiot. Your correct in pointing out I forgot about alchemy though, but that could have been said much more respectfully. I apologize if you found my previous post disrespectful, but attacking someone based on opinions is just stupid.

Yes we all agree that items shouldnt be more than 1 bil, but they are FACE IT. And prices will never go back, they must fix this to prevent scamming. They cant just ignore this cuz they didnt planed this, I mean they can afterall its Joymax, but they should really do something about this.

So then what happens when items start selling for more than 2 billion? As I said above, 32 bit signed integers can't hold much more than 2 billion. So you'd have to have almost zero gold on your character to make a 2 billion sale. Then try to put that in storage, storage has to have almost no gold.

You'd still have people scamming by selling things for more than the cap.

Instead of just letting gold buyers deflate the value of gold buy buying billions of it, and then just raising the gold cap, they should fix the gold buying problem itself... somehow.

NO. Prices will go back if they just ban the gold sellers. And there are so many more things they should be fixing.

Warrior KD
Firewall
Invis PK2
Bots
Power Leveling

If they just check exchanges it should be obvious who is a gold seller. If they check the chat from the suspicious exchanges it should be obvious-er.

But I see your point. Unless they ban gold sellers, its gonna go up and up as gold prices go down and down.

I didnt say I have solution, I just sayed they need to do something. They must fix it somehow. The best would be to prevent gold seling, but we all know thats most likely not gona happen.

I think its much more likely they will stop gold selling than raise exchange cap. Niether of which are likely anyhow.

Prevent gold selling would be best, but we all know how Joymax works and how good is in resolving problems :(. They started banning nice amounts of bots but now bot bans are useless. Its just saw watching all those goldbots at ujigi.

Cough, or ppl can stop being stupid and just let 1 bil be the max. There's a reason there's a cap in gold transfer. Only the most valuable item should be at that price. The reason everything is so insanely high is because ppl can buy gold. If the richest person in a server only has 500 mil, than whoever finds a 9d sosun whatever will only be able to ask up to that price. Or he can keep the item and wait for it to rot.

It's plain and simple, If no one will ever buy an item for a certain price, it will have to go down. No choice about it. They can stall for eternity, but if no one has the amount that you are asking, you really only have 2 choices. keep or sell for the best offer you can get.

So stop asking the gold cap to be raised, it's only going to encourage more gold buyers as prices reach insanely stupid prices ><. Soon sun 9d or 10d will be worth like 50 bil or something stupid.

Sun prices go down as more of them are found. 10dg sun prices will be 10B easily. Unless JM bans gold bots/gold sellers. And gold buyer, but they buy silk.

Not every game is perfect, especially when you expect so much from a free game.

If someone bought even 1 silk, they can be considered a paying customer and its widely accepted that you should expect better services when you are paying for their service.

No where were you ever forced to buy any amount of silk.

Wrong. So very very wrong.

High demand for sun is high.

I don't know if u're the person i think u're.
Alps, Deathgods, BogeyBot, Aania, Ben, Spitfire... ring any bell?

Edit: I still think its easier to code what RUMS said than to add the trade limit. Its not just edit of 1-2 lines of codes...

If you don't know how to code how can you comment on how many extra lines it would take?
Crusher - 78 Hybrid Int S/S.
Anurin - 80 Pure Int Cleric/Bard.

You just need to change like 1 word to get the limit up to 2 billion i believe. But problem is , like what Prometheus said, the limit is 2.1b and there would be quite a fair bit of problem. You may go negative cash if you have 500mil and someone bought a 2bil item from you lol.

If someone bought even 1 silk, they can be considered a paying customer and its widely accepted that you should expect better services when you are paying for their service.

No where were you ever forced to buy any amount of silk.

When you go into a stall IRL , and you buy something , you become a paying CUSTOMER automatically. You were never forced to buy anything either.

Point is , as long as you paid for something , you're a paying customer.

Also, to Prometheus , i know you posted it after he posted but you know, there something similar to what you post in the first page but he couldnt be bothered reading.

Well if that's true, then the max they could raise the gold cap to would be 2,147,483,647.

Money is coded in neither. You are able to put more then 10bil gold into storage. Unless those screenshots were shopped.
