That sounds fuggin' delicious, I'm gonna try that today or tomorrow :)

For me... I'm not sure if anything I eat could be considered weird... I like orange juice and yogurt? I guess you could call that weird.

I like ketchup with my pizza. People find that weird.
I also like ketchup with my pea's you just sorta mix it in. Its nice.
I also enjoy ketchup with rice. If I'm feeling lazy I'll use one of those 2 minute rice packs and just put some ketchup in there. Yum Yum.

Pizza with some ketchup is actually good. Either ketchup or garlic sauce.

Tofu and pork/beef dipped on spicy vinegar with champagne as a drink. mmmMmm...
When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my cousins and I made some weird drink with coke/pepsi + jell-o + sugar + some kind of juice I think + some other stuff that left the smell imprinted on my brain..and we drank it O.o

One thing I laughed at was a couple months ago I had some Kentucky fried chicken. I was talking to Americans on vent and I said I loved their gravy with my fries (or was it my chicken?) Either way, they were like WTF you put gravy on your fries/chicken and I was surprised to learn that in the US they don't put gravy on their chicken or fries (don't remember which =/)

for sure they wasnt southern americans as tend to eat more kfc which alot of people dip there chicken in gravy not only that but alot of southern house food consists of gravy potatoes chicken mac and cheese etc etc which u can also call soul food they were probably some teens from california u was talking to or the guys u talked to never ate soul food in general which is a pity V_V

Hostage wrote:How the hell would they make poutine then?! Wait, not even with their chicken that just wack. Americans are weird.

Weirdest thing? I don't I have a bunch but I do end up putting ketchup on a lot of stuff. During highschool I would even slab it on my poutine.

Mhhmmmmmm, poutine! Gravy, fries, cheese. What's not to like. :P
that looks good i like to eat my kfc potatoe wedges and ask for extra gravy and smoother it i dont do it always but ye ai tried it before btw i googled it most of the pics they show is unmelted cheese looks like the cheese is cold when they put it on the plate

Yeah beetroot is a norm on most burgers in australia, especially beef bugers. Personally i don't like beetroot myself ( i have never liked it, even as a kid ) but most people love it.

A real poutine uses cheese curds that have a high whey content, they haven't been pressed. You sit them on your counter for a couple hours and they get really soft and the salty juices flow out of the cheese. When they make a real poutine you let the gravy warm up the cheese so it's semi-melted, but not melted into a liquid. The reason you want soft cheese as opposed to melted cheese is because it's a light-mild cheese that gets more of its taste from whey, and if you melt it to a liquid state it doesn't taste as good.

It's hard to get farmers to sell unpressed cheese curds out of Quebec, because outside of the province there isn't a huge demand (and resulting profit) for them. So, if you want a real poutine you need to go to Quebec. And if you're ever there, buy a bag of cheese curds (st albert and la trappe a fromage are the two best) and let it sit on your counter until the juices start leaving the cheese and consume as a snack.

You know you have quality poutine cheese curds when they're chewy in a poutine, and if you eat them just out of the bag they should "squeek" in your mouth because of the soft rubbery texture and juices.

The traditional way to eat a poutine is with pogos. In America you guys call them corn dogs. In Quebec they use sweet mustard (1/2 sugar, 1/2 mustard; or 1/3-1/4 sugar, 2/3-3/4 honey mustard). They put the pogo in a piece of folded paper and run a thick line of mustard over it, then twist the paper and twirl the pogo so it gets covered.

The best places to buy poutines are the roadside takeout places. They usually serve them in styrofoam, like below (also note that the cheese looks to be of the perfect melted-ness):

Image

And the places are called "casse croutes" and usually are named "chez bob" where bob would be the owners name, and chez means "at". But sometimes they are named after the street they are on.

A real casse-croute will have different kinds of gravy. Brown is a classic, but they also have white (a la king), italian styled, and other types of poutine.

Get a chocolate bar such as a Twix, bite both ends off and use it as a straw to suck up your coffee. Not exactly a food combination but It's gross, I should know I've tried it. :P

Another Quebec dish is called bajoue. Every time during the maple syrup harvest they have a thing called cabane a sucre. It's like an all you can eat breakfast with sausage, bacon, french toast, crepes, ham, etc. etc.

One thing that is typically served is bajoue, it's pig cheek

Image

It tastes like bacon, but has a texture a bit more rough like beef jerkey, and it's usually a lot more salty than bacon. It's good deep fried as well. The picture is off an italian cured pig cheek - it's fried like bacon or deep fried in Quebec but I couldn't find a picture of it.

Depends on where you get your burger. McDonalds / Burger King etc, the worst thing they put on it is pickles, from an actual burger place you will get full salad ontop of your burger.

Not sure about everyone, but I sure do. A lot of Australians hate pickles, and Cinnamon unless it's on a donut. We're weird like that.

Oh, that reminds me.

Left over pizza - fried in butter.
Don't laugh - it's good. Doesn't take much butter - but get the pan almost hot enough for it to smoke, add a little olive oil if you want - and toss a piece of left over pizza in, let it fry long enough to make the cheese crispy and flip it once to heat it through and through. If you like thick crust (or Chicago Style) like I do the pizza will be crispy on the outside, chewy inside.

Oven pizza warmed up in a microwave, garnished with raw beans and cheap fake-Italian formaggio, topped with the cheapest pasta sauce possible, decorated with the remains of the pizza you made last week, and finally finished with some cup-a-soup powder and charred edges.

The meal of a bachelor who thinks he has style.
