Venus is the best server in SRO, really. Those of us who started on Venus back in the beginning fought so hard for this Confederation and to see it in full swing... Its amazing to me. One damn server in 31 is ours and even then some jackoff like Xemnas thinks we should let botters coexist peacefully. Bitch please... Instead of blabbing in this thread, get your friends together and come to Venus, maybe you will have more luck than sObscene did.

There's always idiots who don't follow the rules and get banned from Avalon or any other legit guilds. Those are drop outs, not players from Avalon playing on another server. So don't come here report things to ava like everyone in these days does.

bots take up server space and die over and over in cape. other then that they are harmless.
half-legits infest our community and threaten the whole system. they offer the bots the kind of gameplay and interaction that keeps them here.

It is to be seen as an addition to any other rules he respects, according to what he has written. Gold buying is already part of the Confederation's set of rules and he follows those.

Venus IS very different from the other servers. That is a fact. Some people like and accept it. Some people don't. Those who do, stay. Those who don't, leave. Let's just keep it that way and move on.

And I mean the server and not this thread nor SRF. I like this forum for we all have differing opinions or most everything. And nobody can force others to believe in something they don't. On the other hand, I like Venus too, since I (and emphasis is on the "I") feel that I get to play the game the way it is meant to be played. Reason why I don't plan to move to any other server is that, in my case, I level slow but you are not ostracized for being too inactive or too "noob" enough not to level as fast as the others. And that is because there are a lot of people in Venus who can understand that as well, is all.

@nog My answer is: no, who wants to be legit has to be involved with bots in no way. But what i like to stress is that attitudes like "u bad ppl, go out of my land" have done evil in the past and are likely to do worse in the future if not opposed,at any level, even in games. The problem with your 2 Rules though simple is they fail to address major problems, cheating in any form is not legit, ok partying with bots isnt not smiled upon but does not make you a cheater unless it is a power level, but until you address the more pressing issues your going to be flamed

Its possible to follow the confeds rules and have fun many guilds do, only partying with legits also brings you closer you get to know the people much better which is another plus

How about just revise your rules slightly to include the big no no's and then you might get some support and atleast get whitelisted

I'll try and put it another way. The Confed's rules are set up to be a denial of service to the bots. You deny them what they enjoy and they will eventually leave to get their enjoyment elsewhere. People see these rules as too ahrsh because they don't see the psychological effects on it. The whole war is a mindset. Action is one part, but knowing how to get under their skin is more important. THIS is why the Confederation has such strict rules. Once the bots are gone, there won't be a need for these "harsh rules"

See it more as a structure for the raiding party, so that once we kill the stragglers we can drink their booze.

Further there is NO reason to throw issues like that into this discussion. This discussion is about bots and problems connected with botting. You are talking about fascism originating in anti-semitism and general right-wing retardness. I do not see any direct connection or relation there.

Look, the "definition of legit" isn't just some random, arbitrary rules created by power hungry legits. It is a reflection of how the game is meant to be played.

We can always sit back and cherry pick the rules we want to follow and those we don't. What if someone came and said "I'll follow each and every rule in the definition of legit except for the one about changing the size of the mob so they're easier to select. I'm still going to do that." If anyone responded by telling them to GTFO, you'd jump all over them saying that they're just power hungry over a stupid little edit that makes mobs appear larger. But that's not really the point, is it.

Occasionally cities get it into their head that by excusing many "victimless" crimes or "minor" offenses, they're police will be more able to respond to the "important" crimes. New York tried this in the 70's. London is still in the middle of this idiotic policy. It turns out that when you look the other way for the small crimes, ALL crime goes up.

Why do we have zero-tolerance toward some seemingly harmless actions, like word filter edits? Because we know exactly what happens if we take a more laid back approach. You believe that if we were to allow certain smaller infractions, things would still be okay in the end. The majority of the confederacy believes that if we were to allow certain smaller infractions, we'd end up with a server just like all the others. Maybe you're right. I don't think so and it's a chance I don't want to take.
