Re: Skipping school
I skip classes often, being a senior you can sit anywhere around the school and not be questioned as to why you're not in class.
If I skip the whole day, including roll call, then I get a text message to my phone saying I'm absent, as I'm the legal carer of myself =]

Some classes are fun, and easy (English, Business etc)
Some suck (Maths etc) I just skip the ones I don't like, then the teachers fill out anomaly sheets they see you were at Period 1, 2, 3, but not at 4, then you get detention =]

Re: Skipping school
Never skipped school.
Now in college, I can come and go when ever I want, but its up to me then to catch up on studies.
But like i'd rather listen to what the professors say, THEN do research at home

Re: Skipping school
i hardly ever skipped school unless it was useless classes.
like, i skipped the last month of english class but got a
9/10 for my exams. now here in uni, they don't really mind
if you don't come to class, but i don't want to have too
much of a delay with my study so i try to go as much as i
can.
and besides that, during the day there's not so much other
things to do anyway. i rather go out every night than skip
classes to do nothing.

English is easier than maths. Why skip English?
Useless subjects for me are, Graphics, and Maths. Though maths would help me in life.

i skipped english because basically i was just as good at it
as our teacher lol. we had to do crap homework, like reading
some magazines and having a conversation about it with her.
i never read one in my life, but i always got at least an 8/10
for talking myself out of it so nicely. idk, i couldnt skip
math because i suck at it i guess. i go to school to learn, so
then what's the point in skipping that which i'm terrible at.

Re: Skipping school
Who doesn't skip every so often?
I'd always skip a few days in a row to make it look legit. But 3 days was usually at that point your 'really' sick and I had to goto the doctors so I was always magicaly better on the 4th day.

To say since, the being is not or the non-being is, is wrong to say against it, the being is and the non-being is not, is right.

Dystopia wrote:Hmmm, I don't skip school because my school has this automatic system that calls home if you miss attendance for any class
This is what is says : "[School Name] Calling. A student in your house-hold in grade [Grd] as been absent period(s) [1-5]. This may include field trip absences where parental preapproval has been granted. *beep*"
So, I can't because I'll get caught for sure, I sometimes skip class and they still call, but I say I was late and they took down attendance already. Haha, I haven't skipped once this year though

Re: Skipping school
Eh quite a few times, sometimes your just not in the mood for school. But not if it resulted in me being miles behind everyone else.. or was something important. Most lessons were a waste of time anyway.
Can't exactly say skipping was all that fun, as most of your friends would be in school anyway.

i can't stand BS teacher. If i can sit in a class and do nothing and still get a B attendance is not mandatory in my book. Even worse i hate it when teachers like that take points off for not attending their BS classes, as if you really needed to be there so they could talk more BS.

Re: Skipping school
I skip a lot of tafe courses but its not really the same thing, im not "forced" to go there rather im choosing to be there. When i know i wont learn anything the next lesson ( i know 90% of what we are being taught, i should of got exemptions but didn't want to go through the hassles of doing it ) i either go home or just spend a few hours relaxing. Sometimes if im pretty busy i will even study for those few hours.
As far as high school was concerned i never skipped a whole day. I think i may have skipped the odd lesson when i was feeling depressed but thats about it. In all honesty i liked school, my teachers were great and i always had a good time in class. I never had a reason to skip it. That and half of my classes were frees anyway, i had more free lessons than i did normal lessons >_<

Re: Skipping school
My last year of high school I averaged 2 days skipped a week. I used to stay home and do whatever, or go out. The school secretary would call home, I just wouldn't answer.
Now I skip my economics class basically every time I have it, and I skip my law class every other week. Last term I went to class less than 10 times in total for all my classes.
Skipping doesn't really matter, as long as you do your readings and hand in your work on time - as i've found anyways.

lol. My days are so easy to skip too, We start at 8am, finish at 1:10pm, so I seemingly get half the day free anyway, but going to the beach watching the milfs etc is always funner than school ;] helps when the beach is literally across the road too.
