lol, Parliament was dissolved last month (Campaigning started) and 1 month later there's an election(Oct. 14), not this 1 long year U.S. Stuff. So in Canada it last one month.

I wish they would do the rest of Canada a favour and fu cking seperate already. Everywhere in Canada, those arseholes put french on every item you buy in a grocery store, and I also have to put up with their french language on our road signs. But guess what, you go to Quebec their is not one word of english anywhere.
And if you try to talk to these frenchies in English they refuse to speak!

Re: 2008 Canadian Election Results
Found this in the comments, was well said
So this is it, is it?
A choice between:
1. a guy who has zero executive experience, either public or private, and has probably never managed any funds greater than his own failed leadership campaign,
and,
2. a guy who's only executive experience (public only) is someone who drove Ontario $9 billion into debt and came in third place in the election that followed.
The Liberals sure know how to pick 'em!

I don't see french on signs in Ontario so I'm not sure what you're talking about. We are a multilingual country, being such we have multilingual packaging on products. Quebec actually does have English on their signs, the French just has to be a larger size. I don't know how often you have been to Quebec but it isn't France, people don't refuse to speak English.
You do realise that if Quebec seperates Alberta would be next, since alone, Alberta would be able to support itself.

Re: 2008 Canadian Election Results
whats even the point of splitting over language? 100 years ago there wasn't even half the countries that there is now and i don't want to acknowledge Quebec as a separate country

lol just open your eyes french is on our road signs.
If we are so multinational, then why do we not have mandarin, arabic, hindu written on the rest of the packaging? I would have to check but I believe their are more asians in Canada then french people.
I speak with French people from Quebec on a daily basis, and yes they do refuse to speak english. I'm not talking about Montreal, because their is a lot of english spoken in the city.
And can you support your claims about Alberta?

Whats wrong with French on your road signs? It only has just as much right to be there as English does.

Re: 2008 Canadian Election Results
yeah, i must say that the only places i see french are on our products sold up here, never on any road signs usually. Only seen them in Quebec when i went.
AND please get back on topic, this is a thread about the election results, not Canada's state on bilingualism.

Multilingual, not multinational. Also, I should have said bilingual, my bad.
As for having more asians in Canada than Quebecois, the asian population in Canada is not straight off of the boat from China, they have been here for generations and all speak English. Also, if you go to Chinatown in Vancouver, you will see Mandarin/Cantonese signs.
