"@morningdew
Could you please answer me one question,
If I don't use any ANY third party program, don't modify a single file on the silkroad folder, don't use any kind of macro that'd give me an advantage, don't buy gold from gold companies. Can I play in peace knowing that I won't get banned?

"

There's two things to go by:

Personal experience, which is, I have my own account, three of them, both with and without premium. Never been banned for simply playing the game.

However, there are rules put forth in the user agreement and operation policy which states some reasons why Joymax would ban, as well as these characters are owned by Joymax and it's at their discretion to decide what is considered adverse to their ability to run the game in the fashion they like.

Just note that from the company side, it makes little sense to just ban people who are simply playing the game.

so it means i can get ban without reason if i dont buy silk

He's right. Joymax have complete access to your account, and can do anything with it.

Yeah didnt u no this? Its bassicaly the way they prevent people from selling accounts in mmorpgs, and to prevent lawsuits over losing ingame items.

Blizzard went as far to say that only they own World Of Warcraft and every1 else even if they bought World of warcraft cds and pay monthly fees are just licensees of the software and never at any stage owned the software.

I don't think Joymax would ban an account simply because they felt like it, or because [GM]Tarky's coffee was too cold that morning. They ban for TOS violations, as well as account inactivity. There is a section of the TOS about banning both silk and non-silk accounts after a specified time of inactivity.

What attitude? Banning inactive players? That is standard security practice to lock and/or delete accounts in a system that are inactive. In terms of SRO, I think the inactivity is 6 without silk months or a year with silk.

So what your saying is that if i go idle for about a year, WITH silk and decide i want to play other games or have found other games more interesting. Think hell might go play a little silkroad BUT oops... Guess What!

My account has been BANNED and hasn't been switched to some sort of inactive status giving me an option to reactivate the account. Which leaves us to get the banned [100 year ban] Permenant, your saying that is ok?

That means that $200-$300 dollars worth of silk i purchased over a given time has been LOST because some dumbass decides, HEY! lets delete his account.

It's a greedy way to get money but also a big screw it and find another game. Eventually we will have some sort of private servers just like WOW and joymax arn't going to know what smacked them.

Well that's your problem, you knew what was in the TOS when you joined the game.

Well from what I remember reading in the TOS, it says they "MAY" ban the account.

I don't know about you, but if I had a few hundred dollars worth of silk on my account, and decided to quit, I would first use up the silk. I wouldn't just let it sit forever just in case I someday come back. What if Joymax tanks, or just kills iSRO, while you are away? Bye bye silk.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but even a 100-year-ban account could be unbanned if you get ahold of the right people at Joymax couldn't it? Might not be the easiest thing to do though unfortunately.

the only thing i dont like about these bans is that i know a person ( 100% legit(yes i stalk his sro folder  )) that is constantly struggling with these " bot bans " Everytime he made an acc it got banned. And b4 this ban he logged onto several accounts of his in the week just to sort stuff out (i was helping ofc). Then checking the list we notice each one of the chars he logged into that week were banned...but then would one ip accessing a numerous # of accounts "= gold bot and then = total account ban from every id logged in during that week?"

i seriously have to question JM at times like this >_>

Think of it this way. When people say they "dont bot dont use loader but i got banned", chances are that they do use a loader or bot. Simple as that.

How can we ever believe them until they prove themselves to not use one of those programs? What company randomly bans people for doing the right thing? It eliminates potential customers. Im sure JM has justifications for their bannings, simple as that.

I was wondering if it is perhaps related to the fact that you use paypall on more than one account for buying silk. Click and buy has a restriction and it's clearly stated in the user agreement: you can use it only for one account. Perhaps they are doing the same now for paypall after too many complaints of CCF fraud and charge backs of silk? It's just an idea but knowing JM their decisions are mostly dictated by a financial concern.

Sure he is. Even if your friend doesn't buy silk, he can still spread the word to other people about the game. He can tell them how great it is, and they might just create a character and start buying silk for themselves. Your friend might not buy silk now, but he may someday.

Your friend might not be a paying customer, but he is a potential paying customer that can bring other potential paying customers on board. It really doesn't cost Joymax any additional money to allow him to play for free.

I used the same paypal account for 2 different SRO accounts. Yet both my accounts which have existed since the 60 / 70 cap are yet to be banned.

JM does ban legit non silk buying accounts for no reason. Peoples accounts that have never used or ever will use bot or loader programs.

So i suggest that you might change your attitude a little.

LOL
Seems like you need some additional conprehension tutoring.
You made a statement i responded.
What has that got to do with PROMETHEUS' statement.

BTW i don't really think i need to go to bussiness classes since i've been running one for over 12 years.

Well if you have been running a business you might be able to see some logic. Lets start todays lesson shall we?

By banning non buying silk customers for no apparent reason you are destroying your potential client base. Even though they haven't brought silk yet they one day will. Take myself for an example. I didn't buy silk till about a year of playing.. maybe even later on. Now if they banned me early on they never would of gained my money. I also convinced about 5-6 people i know to play SRO so thats another 6 potential customers JM now has. Although if they banned me it never would of happened, i would of quit the game and never told my friends about it.

Pretty much this is exactly what PROM said in his post, by banning people ( in general, legit or not, silk buyer or not ) you are eliminating your consumers. On a game that needs players to thrive why in their right mind would they just randomly ban people? It simply doesn't make sense >_>

they never made sense
n they never cared about the companys/games image only the MONY

just becuz theres a rite thing they could do , doesnt mean theyre doing it .
servers are full any way , the dudes that get banned , either quit (good chance of paying guy coming to his spot) , or make new account that he will buy silk on . win-win situation
