Upgrade your ram, if you put in around 4 gbs of ram u will run as smooth as silk. Trust me i had your ram before its a snail compared to a 4 gb.

Put the setting to low and set the priority of the SRO client to high, it might help.

you obviously do not understand computer very well, or explain how? 4 gb is a bit much plus you don't even know his mobo can take it, or his wallet.

A 2 or 4 gb ram is well within my means so thats not a problem but i do think that a 4gb ram is something like an overkill. Do you think that a 2gb ram will be more than enough?
Also, is ram the only reason as to why the laptop has delay and frequent lag/spike while playing?
As for whether my motherboard can take it, i do believe it can.
Oh yea, pardon my stupid question, but how do i set the priority for SRO Client to high?

while running silkroad do this:
Task manager (ctrl+alt+del)
go to processes and there should be Silkroad.exe
right click it and it should say set priority. just set it to high
all done

4gb can not be supported on XP anyways, it's around 3.2gb and that it can't handle anymore. RAM is not always the problem, if you are getting constant "loopings" and crashes then it's probably video card related, if it's lag or slow loading then RAM would be and option. what is your motherboard, if you don;t know you can go into your BIOS or type the laptop in online and see.

Its a Lenovo Thinkpad R60 notebook. I aint sure about the motherboard but it shouldnt be a problem.
And yea its lagging + slow loading and the laptop only have a 512mb ram so i guess it should be the problem. Thanks alot for all your help.

My desktop system only has 512 megs RAM with an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ processor and an nVIDIA FX 5200 graphics card. SRO ran like crap in XP for me. It ran, but I lagged a lot, and it often froze, especially in town.
My solution: I installed Ubuntu Linux and ran SRO on that. Now I can run the game with high graphics, all graphic features turned on including detailed shadows and bloom effect. It runs quite nicely. It's a little laggy in town, but when I'm out grinding, it works pretty well. If I turn my graphics down, it would run even better. I just like how it looks with everything set to high.

The 950 GMA uses main memory as graphics memory so you have even less ram for the game. 2GB should be the minimum you should have.

If you are using wireless internetz, it can be it. I also noticed how shitty the integrated graphics on that NB are, they are the cause too.

Try the 'large scale battle' setting in the start windows.
U don't see buffs and stuff but may cut down on lag.

Sorry, But I like Linux, but I'm not letting it have that much credit, I had the same card as you, and There is no way you could run SRO on Full graphics with that card.

*blinks*
Ok. There's no way you could run SRO with full graphics on that (nvidia fx 5200) card. Impossible. I must have lied.
It's certainly not impossible. Granted, when I go watch the occasional guild war, or other activity like that, I'll enable 'large scale battle' settings, but for the average solo grind, full graphics works pretty well.
