What does fire shield actually do??

I don't get it

Whatever the percentage. That percentage means it'll heal that much that it won't affect you. if you can get it to 100% you wont be affected. For example:

You get frozen for 2 minutes. You get fire shield to 50%. So now you get frozen for 1 minute. Then you get Fire shield maxed to 78% and get accesories which give you 100% immunity to ice. Now you dont even get frozen.

oh ok! Does this also mean for poison or zombie status? or other status effects?

Every effect, but if I remember it right it used to be a % (So you could get immune with ease at higher lvl) but now it's fixed and it just reduces your status. You can still get immune tho.
