Personally, due to the sheer amount of energy we produce, once we die, that energy cannot simply vanish. It must become something else. Called the law of conservation of mass/matter/etc.

The downer of god is the church. It sucks. Corrupted fathers, poorly maintained funds, sinners that run the holy affairs of the sabbath day. It's bullshit. I pray when I need guidance, when I'm sad, angry, happy...Not when I'm told.

Win? I didn't know the point was to win. Mostly I just enjoy the subject and like speaking to certain members here to share views. If I was trying to win ,my posts would be entirely different in nature, ya know? I'm sure there are those who see this as a debate where two opposing sides are in competition - but is it?

As far as I know there is no such thing as an un-moderated 20 page 'debate'. I have been involved in debates on "Creationism vs. Evolution" before. The "Big Gun" Creationist arguments include the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics and Probability, not VenomFangX style vs. "I am god - bow to me" irrelevancies. My experience is that these debates cause more misunderstandings then they intend and also work toward each side entrenching themselves deeper and deeper in opposition to each other.

During my conversations here certain people have gained my respect others are largely ignored, I expect this is the same for everybody but I've never understood that the point was to win. If they were trying to win, I've not noticed.

OK i see your argument, so what happens to those with out a family? I mean if we're looking at it from YOUR point of view. A person only gets recognition of his or her accomplishments by family or family member. But this cannot be, so eventually you'll be forgotten even by a family member. If people can't conclude that your beliefs are superstitious or naive (mild accusations) then what right do you have to call someone else's religion immoral because they practice human sacrifice. You clearly stated that you cannot call a religion right or wrong unless their practices are counter to your own. Clearly practicing torture and human sacrifice is the exact opposite of modern Christianity; therefore, if you can argue against belief systems that aren't the same as your own then others can do the same and make the same judgment calls. It is not that I am not willing to leave the box; I rest in the physical box and there are no "real" boxes outside of that box. If it cannot be supported with evidence then it is not real. Simply saying; "I saw it ,or I feel it" is not enough.

The question is how and why.

I never said religion gives life meaning a purpose. I never said God can give life a purpose. I'm just saying if god dosent exists you basically live your life without a reason. Everything you just wrote will go without a purpose. But, if a god exists and your in the afterlife, you will see your entire life and accomplishments and be proud on what you have done.
