In competitive play I mean.

I play it somewhat competitively, and you will hardly ever see someone with an AR.
Everyone realizes that it sucks.

Dual wielding SMGs is more effective, and they sound cooler.

I play mostly MLG in MM and I can beat anyone with a BR with my AR.

At close range of course.

Best combo is -- BR, AR and nades.

There are no ARs in MLG, and anyone serious will not need one. Any up close battles will be covered by teammates if you're good.

Martyrdom is too easy to avoid.

They are both completley different types of game and because of that they cant be compared fairly. Sure they are both fps games, but so is oblivion, they are both a different type of fps.

COD4 is alot better than halo 3 although i still play halo 3 when im bored of COD4

I like COD4 when I want to relax, and have fun with my friends.
I wasn't ever big on Halo 3. It was always a disappointment in my eyes compared to its predecessors. It's still a good game in my opinion however. The competitive merit is there, that's for sure.

So to the OP, "Halo" as you put it is NOT overrated. Halo 3 in particular, maybe. Halo:CE put console shooters on the map. Halo 2 was undisputed champion of the console gaming world for years.

Ah, I agree. Should have probably mentioned I was talking about MP. Halo isn't too great of a SP game, usually playable once or twice, even for the die-hard Halo fan (some exceptions)

What it lacked in SP I like to think it made up for in MP, but I can understand more single-player oriented gamers not diggin' the trilogy like I do.

Singleplayer in Halo1 was Farking brilliant, i played that over an oaver. Furthermore, there were fun glitches to be abbused in the hal1 singleplayer.

And the plasma+normal grenade combo would blow vehicles away for miles and miles.

That was fun rly, the new games didnt really have that.

Graphics are always weird. Just to counter: loko at UT3, it looks WAY better on the 360 tne on the PS3. plain odd.
