Shield Bash

Post by Quyxz »

I'm cleric and I have bard sub. But my bard stays at lvl 20, because I'm not wanting to save more SP for it.
Is it worth getting lvl 10 warrior for shield bash? What does the skill exactly do and is a lvl 10 skill still usefull at lvl 40 and higher?
Thanks for any info.

Well, I have it, and its so damn usefull :D
It knockbacks your enemies, and has a 80% chance to succeed(correct me if I'm wrong), it can also add dull status, so they will move slower.
Its very good at pvp, and a life saver in pve.
I have a rogue/cleric, and the shield skill is so usefull =)

Thanks for the info.
Does the 80% still count on high lvl mobs?
I guess the dull is lvl 1 so that will not affect a lvl 40+ mob much ?

Still, I've "dulled" enough people in pvp that are around my lvl.

I dont really mind dull, as long as I can knockback people.

If I'm right, 3~4 seconds.
Also, I dont really mind the cooldown, when the enemy gets back to you you can cast shield bash again x)

why does every one ignore "Clamor" which binds the enemy to the ground & it has 80% chance success !!!!!!!!!!!

if you don't know clamor is in teh bard tree & it's a ranged attack with very fast casting time.

Why do you want to have clamor when you can have heaven flash from cleric tree? :?

Bard skills are worth it..They are stronger than cleric skills (except offering ofc) and overheal is usefull for buffed up wizzies etc but ok. I would farm a bit for bard but that's just me : )

Talking of euro without any sub, i think Bard would be better as pwlvl.

They have 100% speed and wont use any hp pot or mp pot (if u use mp regen skills) so if you take 2 harps you can go for really long time

Also the nukes + booming wave combinaison works really well in pwlvl. you can aggro pt mobs with the nukes and then hit them all hard with booming.

but yeah wizard is probably as good or so with his insane dmg.

But bards would cost A LOT less for the pwlvler :D No mp pots, no speed pots.

for the cleric with shield
knock back gives you time to charge your attacks
sometimes with mobs with phs attack you knock them back at right time
their attack is wasted
knocking back also gives you time for pot cool time to recharge

plus it is fun in CTF and PVP
you just know when it happens to someone, they are saying @##!$%

8) 8)

Adding my two cents in, I still am keeping 10 in warrior. I pvp'd some of my friends last night and it is very useful for interrupting a nuke or something. Not to mention it gets them away from you and gives you enough time to start an offering, less chance of them interrupting you.

All you need is the shield to bash 'em.

A little off-topic, bard>nuker at higher level, the cast times are much faster. I can ks a lot of bots :)

Only thing left to decide is which skillset stays at 80, cleric or bard.

Yeah you would use mp pots but speed isn't needed if you have a nice hill at ongs for example. And the killspeed is higher because of the bigger AoE I think so that would make up for the pot cost IMO

Ohyeah, and no moving march needed for powerlvl at ongs, if you start moving you are at a wrong spot ^_^

Shield bash on clerics or warlocks is fine, just make sure you know when to use it in a party. I've had clerics in the past who shield bash and end up transferring the aggro to other INTs, killin them. xD It also gets pretty messy with shield bash.

Its an extremely useful skill especially if you enjoy pvp and beating the shit out of ppl with offering. You drop to 10% of your hp as offering hits, but they can still get a shot into you. Good combo is shield trash+offering..makes it impossible for them to retaliate, unless the trash doesn't kb or they block offering..and which point ur fairly screwed.

o yeah, if my offering gets blocked I always feel fuucked xD

But healing cycle, then offering and then immediately shield bash is a nice idea, if offering gets blocked. :)
