Lack In Selfcontrol

Post by Dancin »

I am very emotional and lose fast the control of my actions. How can I become more calm?
To say since, the being is not or the non-being is, is wrong to say against it, the being is and the non-being is not, is right.

No, it's just those people like Pinaylovesnukes and that guy with the pic of a Turk Farm or something.

They are a shame for SRF, and should keep their garbage in GD.

You see, you at least contribute in the OTL, those guys are just...

I don't use that method and i'm glad to say that my day doesn't end with bruised up limbs

And like some of you guys do, i once just sat and cleared my mind.

But now as life is moving on,
i figured emotions should be controlled in certain situations by considering some facts

for example anger:

Anger is one of your emotions, along with happiness, sadness and fear.

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy emotion that varies in intensity.

Anger is a reaction to an inner emotion and not a planned action.

Anger is considered a secondary emotion. Meaning something usually triggers a bad thought or feeling and you begin to feel angry.

Anger can also be caused by fear, stressful situations and fatigue.

Worrying or brooding over personal problems can cause anger.

Repeated bad thoughts over and over in your head can increase your anger’s intensity.

Anger can be an instant reaction from a single event or a response after numerous events.

Anger reduces stress and makes you feel temporarily powerful.

Anger is a learned behavior. We imitate how others handled anger.

It is up to you on how you choose to handle your anger.
Don’t let anger control your life.

And more

Pan_Raider(`_´) had a lot of helpful things to say.

Others have pointed out to me that the "problem" doesn't involve having a feeling but only from choosing to express it poorly. Should I tell you when younger I was under court order to take anger management classes? Probably not, but I did learn some things.

The counselor explained that the problem that I was experiencing was related to rapid escalation of my reaction to whatever was making me angry. He asked me to imagine how I felt when I was at my angriest and pointed out that going from calm to angry took time.

What I noticed is that when I was mildly annoyed my stomach would tighten up a bit. The look on my face would change and others might think I was glaring more than usual. My jaw tightened up and the tone of my voice changed. As I went past being mildly annoyed to really being bothered about it, other muscles would clench. At the later stages of expressing anger my breathing would quicken and my chest puffed out some.

The counselor said that every person had slightly different changes that their body went through as they escalated from calm and peaceful toward rage. He asked each member of the class to write down 10 things they noticed happening during that process. In order to do so I had to pay more attention to myself than I was used to. That in itself seemed to help and it wasn't too difficult to make a list. Stomach tightening, jaw clenching, making a fist, glaring, increased breathing rate, voice getting louder, muscles getting tighter again (like getting ready to spring) were among the things I listed.

Then the guy told me to try to put the stages my body went through in chronological order; what happened first? What next? The key, he explained, in controlling anger was understanding that there was a link between the feeling and the expression. When I later felt my stomach tighten some I knew what was happening. I could give myself permission to escalate to the next stage (jaw clenching) or not. Eventually I regained sufficient control (which is what I wanted) to be able to manage the feelings that I was having.

"I'm angry at you," he said, as he began to clench his fist. Grandpa was also angry at being too weak to do anything about it but made no comment about that.

Do you know that punching a wall and leaving physical evidence of anger (even in your own house) is now an arrestable offense? The times they are a changing...

Is this true?

If so that is very stupid. Better a wall than taking it out on other people!

It is unlawful for any person to knowingly injure, damage, or destroy the real or personal property of one or more other persons including property owned by the person jointly with another person or property owned by the person in which another person has a possessory or proprietary interest, in the course of a single criminal episode where the aggregate damage to the real or personal property is less than one thousand dollars.
 How's that for a mouthful?

Basically yes, it is an arrestable offense. If you throw your fist into a wall in your parents house and the neighbors call the police 'cause that's how they are -- you would be wise to cover the hole with a painting before the cops get there. They can't go searching without a warrant but if it is clearly visible and in their plain sight - they have the right to put two and two (the hole and your bleeding or bruised knuckles) together.

I personally think its all about mind set. If you keep yourself positive and distracted by things you like chances are life will reward you with positive thing. For example today i was going badly in a test for tafe, it was quite difficult and i struggled incredibly. I was ready to walk out of the room and i snapped things into perspective. I calmed down, got a drink of water, re thought the situation and ended up getting 100%. I then went to Powerhouse to buy a flash disk, feeling happy with my efforts and keeping my cool ( though i was angry at how immature i acted before ) and met the two most awesome people ever. I ended up hanging with them for hours and an hour after tafe and im going to hang with one of them on sunday.

The point of my rant? If i had walked out and quit i would of failed, i would of missed my next class later that day ( as i was going to go home ) and i never would of met those two people. With a bit of positive thinking and really focusing on something you can overcome anything :)

Martial arts.

Go to a karate or kung-fu or other school. Helps a LOT and teaches you many awesome skills. Like ripping out hearts with bare hands

Or, you can deal with these problems using humor. I make a joke from almost everyting. Like in the hospital with my necktumor thingy(or whatever, even the docs did not knew what was it, they just took it out... perhaps... it was my second head and i think its a good thing the docs killed it. What if he would have better jokes than me??? I dislike competition -.-" ).
The best part was telling sick jokes to my room mates becoz they had surgery too...
Do you know, how painfull is to laugh right after a surgery?
Perhaps im evil, but in the face of death... i dont care if they hate me:p
Try to see thing from the side of humor. ;)
For example, watch standups. Thats a good stuff too.
;)
Craig Ferguson FTW >_<
