I did not ask what McCain can or cannot do. I asked for realistic solutions that Obama, the democratic candidate, has proposed to issues you find important. Once again you are doing nothing but saying how the other party is bad instead of stating how your party and candidate is good.

Pathetic. Has it really gone that far? Is that the only way to campaign? By trying to bring down the opposition? Why can't the candidates simply state the issues, give realistic solutions, and be done with it. Their supporters see this and copy that behavior.

What are the issues you consider important and how does Obama plan to deal with them? Does his voting record support his rhetoric? What is this "change?" People want change but do they know what the change is? What kind of change do you expect from the Obama Administration?

I support Obama because he is not only concerned about the same issues that I am, he has plans that will work to solve these issues and make America a better place.

He wants to end the Iraq war as soon as possible, which I am for. It may not be do-able in the next year, but having an end date in sight is the first step to totally withdrawing the troops. This, in turn, will not only bring American troops home and end this Vietnam-like disaster, but the amount of money we save by not actively waging a war with a purpose so vague and ever-changing that I will not even attempt to pinpoint it, is enormous.

Another way of raising money for government reforms is through taxing large companies, rather than giving them tax cuts and resorting to raising taxes on the middle class.

This money can be used to create more thorough health-care and provide some capitol to fund the creation of jobs in industries like that of clean energy. Also, judging from his actions on the Illinois senate, he will enforce the video taping of all death-penalty trials, to minimize those sent to death row (in California, this is a huge problem financially. The state spends billions upon billions of dollars on death row inmates).

John McCain used to stand for some of the issues I believe in. I supported him in 2000 when he ran against Bush Jr. in the primaries, and I might have even supported him over Gore had he won the Republican primaries. This is not the case anymore. McCain has strayed from his "straight-talking, honest" path to try to get Evangelicals to vote for him.

That is why I support Obama.

energy solution?

The energy solution? Stabilize the middle east by taking a non-interventionist stance before going about and spending the taxpayer's money frivolously.

war in Iraq?

My candidate wishes to end the war in Iraq, prevent a war with Iran, end the imaginary war on terror, eliminate the department of Home Land security, end the doctrine of preemptive war, and seek peace with other countries diplomatically & through trade. My candidate has spotless a voting record that supports every word he says.

economy?

Abolish Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Social welfare, the federal reserve, reinstate the gold standard, abolish the IRS, and remove the income tax. There are other taxes that my candidate wants to remove but there are so many it would take to long to list them all here. My candidates voting record speaks for itself. Stop borrowing so much money from foreign nations. Let the market deal with itself.

health care?

My candidate is a doctor and understands how Health Care works. 45 million people of 330 million people don't have health care. The reason they don't have Health care or insurance is because they cannot afford it. Plain and simple: Tax less, if possible; don't tax at all. Give people the money they earned and let states decide how and why the people should be taxed.

education?

Give parents back control of their children's education. "Developing materials for homeschooling families, to help them educate their children in history, sound economics, and related fields." Eliminate the department of education.

My candidate will remove the patriot act, stop the government from using wire taps to invade people's privacy. Stop the attempt at a collectivist mindset and focus on individual rights. As it is now, our current system encourages racism and sexism.

Eliminate the welfare state that our country is currently running on.

I honestly can't see whatever you saw in that video. To me it seemed that Gravel contradicted himself by saying that Palin had more experience in handling political manners than Obama or McCain, and that yet she is less likely to be corrupt? And how is Palin any less hypocritical than Obama? She stands up "against big oil" yet she's for off-shore drilling... there were so many questionable statements in that video I can't believe he could say them all in a single sitting. Edit: Minute 5-9 were the most notable because he challenged the host premise instead of going on the show and agreeing with every small complaint they made about McCain's choice. The fact of the matter is: The republicans like her and it doesn't matter if the democrats agree with the decision or not. Democrats can say she's terrible and all that jazz but they have to understand why McCain picked her. She brings what conservatives expect of a republican vice president and that is exactly what Gravel was trying to point out. Then around minute 7:45 he started to turn up the heat. They didn't expect that so they cut him off before they were burned.

EDIT: When was the last time McBama brought up real issues and gave well thought out plans instead of generic statements such as: "We will leave in so&so months" or "We will fight anyone that America considers a danger." They only mention Iraq because Iraq is the only country AFAIK that people know we have military presence in. Ignorance is not an excuse for voting based off "Lesser of the two evils." Only 16% of Americans are actually voting for one of the candidates because they truly buy everything they say but the rest are voting off "lesser of 2 evils." It's time we brought change. Don't rely on the president to bring change because that is not his role, we as the people should fight for real change. Not this illusion of change McBama has promised.

We Agree

The Republican/Democrat duopoly has, for far too long, ignored the most important issues facing our nation. However, alternate candidates Chuck Baldwin, Cynthia McKinney, and Ralph Nader agree with Ron Paul on four key principles central to the health of our nation. These principles should be key in the considerations of every voter this November and in every election.

We Agree

Foreign Policy: The Iraq War must end as quickly as possible with removal of all our soldiers from the region. We must initiate the return of our soldiers from around the world, including Korea, Japan, Europe and the entire Middle East. We must cease the war propaganda, threats of a blockade and plans for attacks on Iran, nor should we re-ignite the cold war with Russia over Georgia. We must be willing to talk to all countries and offer friendship and trade and travel to all who are willing. We must take off the table the threat of a nuclear first strike against all nations.

Privacy: We must protect the privacy and civil liberties of all persons under US jurisdiction. We must repeal or radically change the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the FISA legislation. We must reject the notion and practice of torture, eliminations of habeas corpus, secret tribunals, and secret prisons. We must deny immunity for corporations that spy willingly on the people for the benefit of the government. We must reject the unitary presidency, the illegal use of signing statements and excessive use of executive orders.

The National Debt: We believe that there should be no increase in the national debt. The burden of debt placed on the next generation is unjust and already threatening our economy and the value of our dollar. We must pay our bills as we go along and not unfairly place this burden on a future generation.

The Federal Reserve: We seek a thorough investigation, evaluation and audit of the Federal Reserve System and its cozy relationships with the banking, corporate, and other financial institutions. The arbitrary power to create money and credit out of thin air behind closed doors for the benefit of commercial interests must be ended. There should be no taxpayer bailouts of corporations and no corporate subsidies. Corporations should be aggressively prosecuted for their crimes and frauds.

Don't vote on personality. Find out where each candidate stands on the issues and if they don't align with what is best for the country then vote 3rd party. People you have a choice. There are six candidates, it doesn't have to be lesser of two evils. Think about it: Even if none of the other four choices (baldwin, barr, mckinley, or nadar) win you can still send a message. Just imagine if the combined total of those four win 10%-30%. That will send a message that people are tired of this bipartisan welfare state failure of a government. Wake up, this is our country: Don't let it go all to waste. YOUR VOTE DOES MATTER AND YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE. SCREW MCBAMA!

Why is it that people are blaming the man who started this revolution?

Why is it that people are so adamant he ‘run’ in a party? This is the same mindset of the drones in the Republican and Democrat parties.

Ron Paul has directed the Revolution towards the apathetic, disillusioned, and non-voting. There are millions of people who do not vote.

We don’t need debates which are much like sporting events with either side determining who ‘won’. We need real action. Get 10 people to vote against the two parties. If we each do this then there will be a significant non-Party vote.

If the silent majority, the mass of America, that so many of us talk about is really out there then they need to vote and vote against the two party system.
