a lot of tourist cities are Farking ugly and dirty, you just have to get to the right part of the city, not every street corner is gonna be pretty.

on a side note, i loved south beach / miami dade FL.

i was stuck there cuz of a hurricane, what an awesome city. Especially the nightlife when its 85 degrees out and breezy and you see sports cars and chicks everywhere. Best 2 days of my life.

I can imagine living there til my mid 40;s, after that u gotta move somewhere else cuz its just not a very nice city for old people.

Toronto is nice, Reminds me of Sydney, not totally overcrowded or super large. Very nice city indeed.

I am going to be really weird and say

City: Inverness
Country: Scotland (UK)
Why: I know it is a weird choice, but the surrounding landscape is just breath taking. After going in January this year I cannot wait to go back.
Have you been: Yes

I reckon that most of you would say Cairo, but I have been told it isn't a nice city to live in.

City: Saint-Jean-de-Luz

Country: France

Why: Beautiful small maritime town. Eccentric region. Very close to Biarritz, so it's not like living in the middle of nowhere; very close to the Spanish border, cheap shopping, and great food.

Have you been there before: Yes - arrived at night. Made my way through the winding streets following the sound of crashing waves. Turned a corner to see a plateau with stairs leading down onto a beach. The water was light by the reflection of the city's lights.

Well to break from the usual post parameters. I love where i am now, in the country, quiet, can go in my back yard and shoot guns. Do whatever i want. A lot of hiking area and can go camping and just chill for a few days whenever i want. However will be going to Melbourne, Australia soon...will be interesting and really different for me. Really looking forward to it, and ive never seen the ocean either so that will be cool.

Nice, Melbourne in the summer is extremely hot, and in the winter extremely cold.

When are you moving to Australia?

----

I too love where I'm from, and when I was on holidays it made me appreciate the way of life here, it also helped me pick out things which suck in Australia, like the public transport systems.

If you love cold, migrate to Hobart in summers =D. but yuhh, the Ocean isn't all that great, especially down Melbourne way. Though it's always nice to see the ocean if you've never seen it before. We up here take the Ocean and the Beach for granted, I probably go three or four times a year, and it's literally across the road from me.

Melbourne is also a lot like London or Toronto. I think you'll like it there, it's hard not to like it, especially when you've got almost no choice but to like it.

Though I've only ever seen snow once

Yeah im sure ill like it. I've never really been to a large city though, I live in the country so not really that much to see besides Historic sites. Just the heat might kill me when im there. But i really hope i get use to it. I die now when its hot here and the heat hear is like the normal summer low there. But really im looking forward to it, will be new and interesting.
