Questions thread.

Post by Melez »

Well, since there are over 9000 threads like "how this, how that", I made 1 where we can all post questions. I will be first:

How do I make circle rings..?

if you mean circles that are not filled,

take the selection tool and put it on circular shapes (standard is
on square shapes). quick key to the selection tool is M.

now click a point, hold shift and drag the circle till it's about
the right size.

next, rightclick while still in the selection tool.

take the "stroke" option

now fill in how many pixels you want photoshop to stroke your shape

and then you're done.

if that's not what you meant, then be more specific next time <_<

Ellipse Tool ( it should be set to "Rectangle Tool" by default, so just press down right click and select "Ellipse Tool" from the list). Make sure at the top left corner you have "Paths" selected ( looks like a pentool in a box) and not "Shape Layers". Then it's must a matter of holding down Shift and making a circle> right click> Stroke and you're done. make sure you have the right size brush chosen before you stroke though. Simple.

EDIT:
cin, hmph! :x

Curves plays with the contrast of an image. Working with the light and dark areas but it can also be used to change colours. One of my favorite tools, that and vanishing point. xD

The way I do it is,
1:Make a new layer
2:Image>Apply Image
3:Blending Options (For that layer)
4:Stroke-Inside

Hmm vanishing point, how to explain it. Well there are a lot of uses for it although what I use it for is aberrant. I think it was best explained to me when I wanted to be introduced to it by these vids. Hope they help you.

Once you understand the basics of Vanishing point you can start thinking outside of the box on how you can use it adding cool effects to your work.

Understood. Nice one, thanks.

Blend.

How do I blend something correctly, how many times should I, and how is it done?

There is no real way to blend, for me it is always different. You should try to use the following tools, blur, sharpen, smudge, burn and sponge.

Adjustment layers set up the coloring and the atmosphere well when blending. (Gradient Maps, Photo Filters, Color Balance, B/C etc..) For me anyways.
Edit: Foreground and Background effects work at times too.

Now.. Whenever I download a pack of C4D renders, the background of them is never "empty" but black. Is it the creator's fault, or I need to do something? The type of file is "TIF".

Help, I really get pissed off when I see the black BG on a C4D render.

do you download em or copypasta em from the internet?
because when you copypasta them, it gets a black background.

and AFAIK, tiff can save transparency
