Question on building str and int ~ Lvl 32 smp farming??

Post by Gamblingfool »

~ NEW EDIT ~ I've noticed people sp farm at 16, 32, and other higher levels. Since I'm past 16, why do you sp farm at 32? Should I keep my masteries up to date until 23 so it becomes a 9 level gap? Currently 1000 sp for myself.

Lvl 20, I think 72 str points, 83 with equipped items, and 63 int. As of now, I'm only putting my level points in str since I would love to start hitting harder. HE IS A BLADER. I have a 6 lvl gap for sp farming, and I'm letting it go to 9 unless people think I should keep my skills up to date until 32.

Thanks to any replies.

As of now, you are a str hybrid blader. Usually, thats not so good, especially when you are almost a 1:1. By adding all future points into str, you get some higher crits, but its a little late to be going all str. Your char is already gimped, and won't hit as hard as a pure str. If you want to hit really hard, you should go all int from now on. You would make for a good sword hybrid in the long run, but would become int based (less hp, bigger hits, can nuke also).

in my opinion, just go all STR from now on, sure youll get owned by pure strs and probably nukers, but if you want to use a blade. definitely go all str. i dont see why a str hybrid would be soooo bad, just a little more MP than a regular pure str, wont hit as hard but you wont need as many MP pots. gl with whatever you decide.

Yea, people have said str hybrids are gimps, but I'm not sure how long I'll be playing. I think if I manage to get to like, 60 or something, I'd be in the clear going all str I think. But since I'm new, it's great to hear what more expierenced players think.

EDIT ~ I forgot to ask... What is a nuker? Still haven't figured that out yet? Do they get their mastery to a certain lvl?

well, as for higher end levels, here's what you're looking at for base stats if you go pure str from now on:

lvl 20(now): 72/63 Str/Int
lvl 30 : 112/73
lvl 40 : 152/83
lvl 50 : 192/93
lvl 60 : 232/103
lvl 70 : 272/113

so, at mid-40's, you end up tipping a 2:1 ratio in favor of strength. that's probably where it'll start to get easier, since your physical balance will start getting pretty good then. if you continue on past there, it'll just get better. of course, you'll never pack -quite- the punch as a pure str, but you'll be doing a good bit of damage, have no fear of that.

another aspect to consider is that your magic balance will be higher than a pure str, so your imbue will do more added damage. it may not be a lot, but every little bit counts right?

and looking at your stats, you only put 23 points into int, so that really isn't that bad in the long run. throughout the game, you amass 203 -usable- stat points(i don't count the ones that it forces on you, since that's just damn wrong in the first place). so 23 isn't THAT much to worry about.

but don't get me wrong, you're probably going to find yourself in hell during the 30's, but if you can play through that, you may just end up proving everyone wrong about str hybrids. who knows? i for one haven't heard anything from any high level str hybrids, just a lot of speculation as far as i can tell.

And to answer your other question: a nuker is a character based on the sole purpose of doing as much damage as he can in the smallest amount of time. In SRO that means a full int character :)
Nukers level quickly because they can do much damage and thus kill quickly and a lot, but they have a low amount of hp, which makes them die easier.

Thank you kitary, but since I'm still new to what higher levels have, I'm just going to figure the sp needed later on. But thanks again for the site, at least I have something to look at when I try again later.

I've made a new question, hoping people who are currently sp farming at 32 or have can let me know why and if I should keep my masteries up to date until 23.
