Their educational standards are hardly on par with ours/yours (most likely).
Who wouldn't take the news seriously? I watch the news and everyday, I see it affirmed by other sources. In her place, I wouldn't doubt it as well especially if they've proven to be reliable in the past.
Even if she doubts, where can she access (third party) information? The local public library? Phone a friend? Internet?
I don't know enough information, just as you do, to infer anything on her mentality provided she had the same education and chances of accessing information as I or you have.

its india not just a 3rd world contry you do realise they have a high educational standard in some parts? they do have computers, librarys and such, i think your just calling all indians idiots tbh
