Posting what you have tried is a start, it helps from people like me telling you to do things you've probably already done.
Drivers?
What kind of card, processor and how much ram do you have.

Re: Sro emergency ^^
I use to have problems with constant crashes a long time ago, try to find a different DirectX version. the one I have atm is DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) don't think is the latest one but works for me.
you have a pretty good cpu...try to get another GB of RAM...really improves pc/game performance..might not help with crashes but just a thought.

Re: Sro emergency ^^
get DirectX 9c then turn off shadows and the settings for the water to low or off.
if your card comes over clocked from a 3ed party look for drivers from that site if not look for newer ones from ATI. check to see if you have the power to run the card and to see if it is getting to hot.
is this the only game it happens on?

Re: Sro emergency ^^
lol ati radion x1050 (is it the 128mb or the 256mb?)
teleport load crashes or character load crashes just means ur video card or other kinds of hardware aren't up to par w/ game graphics...
1) either turn everything in graphics off (& put on a crappy resolution)
or
2) buy better hardware
it got nothing to do w/ drivers...sro takes a lot of resources to run nowadays (more so than you'd think, if you got the graphics set too high)...i remember good old days when i'd be able to just play on some gay 128mb shared video memory w/ 512mb ram (laptop), XD...now my other laptop w/ 3gigs of ram & 256mb shared video memory can't even play w/o slow ass frame rates...my new laptop (4gigs ram, geforce 9500m gs 512mb vram, 2.4ghz dual core) runs sro so so smoothly, XD

Re: Sro emergency ^^
lol if you went to main sro site you could find many solutions to try
this one worked for me and many in my union
go to your main SRO folder in windows
find your main SRO .exe files
Right click on them, choose properties
find capatablities, change compatabilities to windows 98
confirm, then restart SRO
Hope this works for you, so we dont see this again
Seen you in game, by the way, lol

I never figured out if that actually helps, but I always have my SRO installation configured that way.
I'm running SRO on an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ with 512 megs RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card with I think 128 megs vram.
I also changed my window manager to use IceWM instead of KDE because KDE takes up too many resources on my system. SRO runs fairly well in this setup, but it does freeze sometimes if the card gets too hot.
Too bad you can't change window managers in Windows XP/Vista...
The fact that my card doesn't have a fan or heatsinks can't help much.
Missing the good times in SRO...
