I dont understand the point of the thread are you asking for bots not to get banned on the forums? and that botting is ok?

They're asking for there to be a difference between "cool" cheaters and "uncool" cheaters. The cool cheaters can stay but the uncool cheaters should be banned. Uncool cheaters are the ones with goldbots or 24/7. Cool cheaters are the ones that babysit.

No, The point of the thread is to discuss that having a laidback approach to bots seems to get people banned. I'll define laidback as simple as possible. We play our way and let them play theirs we don't need to make a song and dance about bots we have better things to do.

SG decided that it sucked and ever since, the forum has been great. I can tell by your join date that you missed most of this. For those of us who were around before the cleanup...we still thank SG for his actions.

Don't judge me by a psot count or join date that would be narrow minded. I've viewed this forum since 2006. And It's not an easy answer I simply see better things to do with my day than chase round bots and have them banned from here. And show me a thread where cheaters mocked legits and weren't banned for it and good luck searching. You are missing the Farking point on this. I'm happy for them to be banned but it doesn't mean i will take the pro legit approach to playing the game. I will play for fun, FUN.

It affects me on a daily basis >> From prices being sky high due to people being able to bot 24/7 to Union members bots KSing me at every spot. I normally PM them and try and explain that with KS off there retarded bots would stack up more EXP. But let's face it botters are not just greedy but stupid.

As for the gold bots theres nothing you can do about that. Lets stick to player bots for the purpose of this discussion. Player bots you can do something about. But if you choose to take a laid back stance then dont get angry when you get ksd or when something else happens. If you are going to take a laid back approach then do nothing. Why bother even starting a discussion about it if it doesnt really matter to you? If your going to be legit might as well go all out since thats the only way, it seems, that your voice will be heard. But of course with this may come ridicule and hate. But what are you goin to do? Theres only 2 options: Sit back and take it OR put your battle gear on and get ready to fight. BTW if your in a union with bots its hard to be pro legit. And i must say i do dislike those super uber hardcore legits, the ones i just describe that wear the battle armor all the time. Just my opinion.

For me, it came to a head when D2A (probably the most notorious botter on these forums) mocked a legit for handgrinding to 78 (at 80 cap). The guy made a nice post and was proud of his accomplishment and D2A ridiculed him. I nailed D2A's ass to the wall several times in that thread over his dumbass posts but it was around that time I figured if things didn't change soon, SRF wasn't the right place for legits. Turned out that things did change soon and SRF has been getting better ever since. D2A was banned soon after over other matters and I'm eternally grateful to SG on both counts.

Seriously, if u dont like to play a grinding game. Quit/play another game/buy account. There is tons of account that u can buy from the bot companies. U dont need to level them from the lvl 1. U like a pvp game. Send a bug report to JM say why dont they make a pvp game, create a char lvl 90 for everyone !? No u wont because u know that will destroy the game. About the botters being people too. We know this and only a few delusional people deny it. Oddly enough most from venus. But thankfully even there they are a bit of a minority. To the people spouting the I am neutral and there are botters that don't have an impact on others. I call BS. It is an MMO everyone's actions effect everyone else at some point. There is no such thing as a victimless crime in this case. Because you do not reject or discourage the act of botting you accept and enable it. A mild form of bot support. It is through people like yourself that they try to justify their breaking of the rules. The claim that only jobbing is fun or the only fun PVP is at cap is BS as well. Grinding especially party grind can be as or more exciting than jobbing ever was most times. It can be repetitive but those odd cluster fucks with party giants etc can keep you on your toes. About all the best PVP being at cap it is a circular argument. The reason the best PVP is at the cap is because most of those that PVP are at the cap and most of those that are at the cap botted to get there therefore you have to bot to the cap to "enjoy" the pvp with those that botted to the cap. If people did not bot to the cap there would be more people your own level to PVP and practice against. PVP and jobbing in general would be more fun. Botters no matter how nice they are have all missed the point. There just is no excuse. Even if you are a "cool" person botting should be something you are ashamed of. If your friend bots don't disown them. Simply be ashamed of them in this respect and never let them live it down. It is the "oh they are cool" or "oh I can tolerate them ksing me and those around me" and finally the "everyone else does it" that enables them and ruins the game. So keep that in mind next time you or one of your friends want to bot. You ARE the PROBLEM NOT the SOLUTION and you only deserve to be treated as such.

Lets say little Tim doesnt go to school, doesnt work and only sits on his ass all day grinding on SRO. He does not use a bot.

We then have Bob who is a working guy/full time student with a job and only has lets say an hour a day or so to play the game.

This in a way is "cheating" (couldnt find a better word for it), Tim is getting an unfair advantage over Bob. IF Bob choses to bot, who gives a ****? That doesnt make Bob as a human being any worse than Tim. You have to realize that what you do in a game does NOT reflect on who you are in real life.

The war on bots as it is called hasnt done anything but to get rid of good and helpfull people.

In that case, i dont call that cheating. Yes, it's an advantage, but that advantage dont suddenly comes to him. Tim has sacrificed his future life for the game, what more important is, he gained accomplishment from his own effort. But u, u have education, got a good job, got salary, got money every month..., spending 0 effort to build your char (except setting the bot, yay what a big effort).

So, there's still a question u cannot answer: why dont a botter buy an account coz that's the fastest way to reach the same goal "being capped and just login in game to pvp"?
And why bother to play a game that required tons of effort? That's why it's classified in RPG game.

I heard from some friends buying an account capped farmed is ..... cheap, about $60-$70, equivalent to 3 months buying silk.


And you can stop repeating "who the **** care?", because u arent isolate in your own world, but u INTERACT with other players. Botters ks (or if they turn it off, the bot runs around and dont stay in the same spot..), destroys economie, unbalances game. But they act like nothing happened and what they did is natural

U think that there are already trousands of bots in a server, therefore having one more botter (u) wont change anything. NO, that's not true, if all players have the same mind as you, everyone will turn themself to bot then server is full 100% with bots (that's what already happened). But as long as there's still a ray of hope in your heart, stay in the light side, convince your friend to stay legit, then your friend will convince his friend... and so on. Yes, it's just a game. But a game that could get ppl angry, feel sad. Who the **** want it after they are already tired after work? Ppl just want a pleasant game where they can understand the meaning of "enjoy". Even at any game, i'll be angry if someone steal smt from me, or disturb me.

If that person is fed with power (like being a president, commandor of an army), he'll think they can do what he want s and he will steal anything from others at any time. OK, so personally, when I read that, I think, "Then why not let those of us who DO care do what we need to?" It is empowering for those of us struggling in the game to stay legit and keep as legit an ingame community as possible. JoyMax's lack of action on the legit community's behalf means we all had to take matters into our own hands and apply a little vigilante justice for ourselves. The first considered a dead game like smt very important, and he must acheive it before the important test.
The 2nd is a bit smarter but more evil coz he took profit from the pain of others. But sorry sir, there is none excuse that could justify the act creating pain to other ppl. From what I gather this is the whole "I bot because I have a life" argument. The one huge problem with this argument is it assumes that only the legit is susceptible to an addiction to the game that hinders his ability in other things in life which is completely false. Both legit players and bot players are susceptible to being overly addicted to the game and just because someone bots doesn't mean that they won't spend any time on the computer at all which is also false. Although bots aren't physically playing the game they can still spend as much time as any other addicted player. An example of how they could still spend time on the game is that some botters have a habit of checking up on their bot to make sure they're being as efficient as they should aka "babysitting."

It all comes back to balancing between sro and other activities. Those who can't balance between the two will have to choose one thing or the other. Those who can balance the two understand the concept of moderation.
