Connecting Xbox 360
Connecting Xbox 360
I have a mounted 65 inch flat screen HDTV but the wall mount isnt a swivel so its directly stuck unto the wall.
We couldnt find a swivel mount that could hold up the 65 incher, so we got a non-swivel one instead cuz even if we did find one with a swivel it wouldve probably been really bulky and ugly.
anyway, since i cant get to the back part of the tv without bringing everything down, is there any way I can hook up my 360 through my blu ray and use it as a converter type thing?
i remember I could hook up my Super Nintendo through a VCR using the red, white, and yellow cables and play on my tv.
well now my 360 has the HD Composite Green, Blue, Red cables and so does the back of my blu ray player thats hooked up to the tv. The blu ray uses an HDMI cable to connect to the TV though and i dont know if that would be a proble, i dont think so since the 360 also has an HDMI port but since my 360 is a second generation console which I got just after the 360 was released here in the states, its still the older one so it doesnt have the adapted HDMI port.
ive been playin on the 32 inch hdtv in my room but i wanna see it hooked up to this baby in all its glory.

Re: Connecting Xbox 360
Lemme get this straight, you cant get it to work even when plugging in the cables seperatly w/o the scart box?

Re: Connecting Xbox 360
i can get it to work if i normally plug in the xbox to the tv, but i cant anymore cuz its mounted on the wall and its 65 inches big so its too much of a hassle to bring it down just to hook up an xbox. The only thing id be able to directly connect are those old fashioned red white and yellow video cables, but those only put out 480i and it looks fuckin ugly.
so im wondering if i can get it to work through the blu ray
meaning cables from xbox go into the blu ray, and then the blu rays HDMI cable goes to the tv and i can play my games in high def.

Re: Connecting Xbox 360
mmm, im not sure. In theory it sounds plausible, but i dont know how the xbox itself would handle that.
Test it i guess.
I plugged them in the back as usual, so..

Re: Connecting Xbox 360
The only way to know is to try. My VCR/DVD combo had S-Video out but it only worked for DVDs, so I couldn't hook up composite video and then output to S-Video. Are you sure those component connectors are even for input? It seems more likely that they would be for output. You would probably be better off just buying a video selector.

Far as I know, blu-ray players only have outputs, no inputs. Sounds like a piss-poor planning of a built tv if they didn't make a way to hook up cables to it once it's wall-mounted.

Re: Connecting Xbox 360
Mine can be wall-mounted, and still easily hook up cables. The connections are near the bottom, and instead of directly facing the wall, they're angled down a bit to make it easier to connect stuff.

yeaaaa
the only inputs that are visible are the older video and 2 audio ones ( yellow white red common ones), no HD component ones.
its got 6 pairs of the HD ones and 3 HDMI inputs, ALL IN THE BACK
so tempting to bring it down so i can play gta4 on this big machine but i cant take it down alone and im home alone for the rest of the week.
anyway thx for the replies, i just checked and you're right the blu ray doesnt have inputs.
damn it lol.
