Bard vs. Cleric As Sub-class for wizard?

Post by DeathBeforeDishonor »

Which is the best sub-class for a wizard..
Bard or Cleric?
Or.. is there another that would be even better?
This char is going to be used more for power
farming my chinese char at ongs, So please
keep in mind what I'm gonna be using the character
for. Please can you give me reasons for which
sub-class you choose, not just "it's good"
Thank you :)

Well if it's main purpose is to powerlevel then definitely go for cleric.. that way you can res your other character..

But'm I'm kinda confused on how noise works btw.. when your on an auto share party.. does the noise affect your other party members? in which monsters won't attack them? Because if not then definitely go for cleric :)

Noise only works on yourself. I heard that you'll get a pt noise at lvl 100, but I'm not sure that's true.

BTW noise is only helpful when you don't draw agro, like in 4/4 party or a bard who only mana cycles.

For pt levelling purposes, a cleric would be better.

Or you could get your cleric high enough to get the needed lvl of res and put the rest in bard for speed.

I can survive giants and champs if I solo without a cleric sub.
The ability to stand in the middle of a pile of mobs without being touched is rewarding enough.

If u're going to powerfarm at ongs i say bard and get the attack skills. At least in my server bards got all the good spots cuz they one hit pt ongs and the casting time is faster = faster xp and if someone tries to ks u he's gotta be pretty damn fast. Then again for delvling just help a friend farm too and make him go cleric lol.

Bard:
Move faster
Noise
attack skills are better for pwerfarming at ongs
mp healer at pt's

Cleric:
Healing, everybody wants some healing in their parties
Recovery division, a huge life saver, at least for wiz when their grindin
buffs

so if its for strict pwerfarm i say bard

in my opinion Bard is the best powerlvler at ongs IF he 1hits pt ongs..their attack skills cast very fast so that u can ks every wizzard..also uve got a pretty nice aoe spell which can kill a lot ongs at the same time..also due to your extremely low mp pot usage you will need alot less gold than for a wizz

get bard till u reach the cap then delevel it for cleric..
wizard/bard is by far THE FASTEST LEVELING BUILD IN THE GAME.
but since cleric is better for pvp, so u'll prolly want to delevel ur bard when u reach the cap.. actauly u CAN go wizard/bard in the cap, but it will be too suicidal. also cleric will be usefull if u wanna res ur chinese charecters that u will be plvling

u cannot survive a giant mob without cleric sub.. any critical hit will 1 hit u, and u will have absolutely zero defence and healing power, so you WILL die cuz u wont 1 hit the giant mob like u do to normal mobs. BUT the abililty to stand between aggro mobs having ur life control on and 1 hitting any mob 4-5 levels higher than you with ease is very very rewqrding. u also get to AOE everything in sight without having to fear being mobed in the procces

I am wiz/bard lv78 and dont think to switch to cleric, I dont die on my lvl giants and grind very fast, also I kill many uniques. I think bard is better for grind and uniques ( especially Shaitan ) because u can always have a cleric in the party ...

The obvious solution:

Assuming you got to 60:
60wiz
50bard
10celric (You can ress 30.)

Just do that, Wiz=Your level, Bard=your level-10. Celric=10.
