Very weird character glitch, hope someone can help

Hi guys,I'm having a very wierd glitch with my char.

When I am idle for even the smallest amount of time, when I return to play, my characters head is all weird. The head is off the shoulders, and is out of the scalp. The arms and legs are flying about like a stick insect. I call it Praying Mantis glitch.

if other characters are near me, they will appear to look that way as well. If I move away from them the glitch disappears. All my family uses SRO and from their pc's my char looks normal. The only way to fix it, is to port or scroll, or to hop on and off a horse.

It's driving me crazy, is anyone else having this glitch? So far i've found no one else with this problem. I am using windows Vista, new system, new graphics, everything is working beautifully, just get this annoying glitch

its from your graphics card, trying updating your drivers to see if that helps or turning down the graphics a bit.

I will update the drivers and adjust the settings and see if that helps..i will keep you informed hehe

if problem still persists, all u need to do ingame is switch weapons or anything that will make the game change your char's appearance... that's what i do to mine, switch weapons then my char will appear normal again

ok well my drivers are up to date and i've altered the graphics settings.. i have been idle a little bit and so far so good

and OMG Kutsara does that mean you have had this glitch too? lOL the weird thing is, players have said they haven't any idea what i'm talkin about lol cept my family who see it on my pc when i play, yet on their pc's I appear normal.

yeah, this happens now with my new laptop... i dont get the glitch on my old desktop tho.. weird and i haven't updated the drivers yet so when i do, i hope that will fix my prob too!!

ok update..

well as I said my drivers were up to date and I changed the background draw distance to 2 instead of 3, which is what i had it at..My graphics are still lovely and clear, and I stalled all night and have been up for hours with no stick insect glitch

Could be just coincidence hehe but i've never been idle so long before without getting the glitch.. KutsarA try changing the draw distance when you play on the laptop and just see what happens.. i know changing it has to have done something because as I said I've never been idle so long without this prob happening..Was nice to come back in the morning..all my stuff sold and my char looks normal hehe

np what ive heard is some types of graphics cards dont go well with sro, were u would have weird glitches among other things, glad everythings working so far

I also have this problem, but a lot worse it seems. The floor has all distorted colours. Kinda hard to explain. I also have just got a new graphics card (GeForce 7300). Can anyone help? Ive tried updating the drivers but apparantly they are already updated.

Turn down the graphics ingame? The 7300 isn't really a new graphical card nor is it very powerfull.

Hmmm, i suggest you try a modified version of the nVidia Forceware drivers. Although this is at your own risk.

Yeah i minimize the client a lot. Any ways to prevent this glitch from happening?

Protip: Dont use a multiclient.

It can occur when multiple clients are open and one of them disconnects. The remaining client will produce that "pray mantis" effect like you are going on about.

That's why Ubuntu's virtual desktop cube is sooooooooo much more useful.
