In the not so new, but new to me section, I've learned that Master Chief will NOT be the main character in the Halo movie.

Bungie Writing Director Joseph Staten in an interview with Level Up stated that Master Chief will be a supporting character. Why?

"Where the Master Chief doesn't have a face... That's hard to carry as a main character for an entire film. But you can certainly surround him with people who don't have helmets on and you can see their faces."

I was a little surprised, but after letting it settle I actually think that's the right move.

Not really a good background considering MC doesn't say a single word, or express any kind of personality that would be produced by such a brutal childhood.

It's not about 'knowing it all'...

It's about me following your link, and finding that chunk of text in the first few lines i read. The only thing you've proven with the quote above, is that Bungie are contradicting basterds.

Its a great background. Go read fall of reach (i doubt the film will go into as much detail as the book). This "brutal" childhood dosnt mean it was a bad one. The training they did was brutal and of course they didnt enjoy it at first but they grew to like it. All they know is being a spartan. Technically they didnt have a childhood.

And i think it's a fail now. Every scene with the Chief or an alien building in it, are just cutscenes from Halo 3.. Bore!
