Just downloaded: server is always in maintenance

I downloaded the client, downloaded the patch.

When i try to connect... i get this error

"The server is undergoing inspection or updates. Connect to http://www.silkroadonline.net for more information"

Its been like this for 1-2 days, is there something wrong with the server?
Or is it me?

It is you.
You are probably behind a firewall that is messing it up. Try making sure that your firewall is enabling silkroad.exe to commmunicate. Hopefully that'll fix the problem
