Old Skoolers

Well, Hi all! Been a while since I stopped in and for the hell of it I scanned through all the pictures and was really shocked that some of mine were still in there.

Actually had the itch to play this a few times but the bots and the fact I knew they would be here kept me away.

Boy was it alot of fun when the game was new, full servers, new ones opening up, level caps at 60 and the bots werent hardly anywhere.

The most fun it ever was (despite a number of problems here and there) was at the 70 cap. After that, things started to go down the drain.

Miss the days of 1-star popping. (I was the "jerk" who was killing off thieves' spawns; that's the most fun I had)

70cap on Olympus was excellent. Plenty of capped legits.

IIRC there were only about 5-10 on Babel that hit 60 without botting before the 70 cap came in. After that I think I went to 67 or 68 and all the weekly bot banning was not impacting much of anything. Sure, it did stop a few people, the ones that wanted to but didnt want the risk but it was still too much.

I got tiered of busting my ass and watching people fly by me like I was standing still because they botted all night.

Me too. I stopped at 69 @ 70 cap. At 80 cap, people were soaring by, and I got very very frustrated

60 cap has been my greatest experience.

The game wasn't so "fkd up" because of alchemy.
I mean, even the biggest noob could, in the end, manage to kill others just because the extra attribution stones allow everyone to run arround with extra hp and balance.

back at the 60 days you saw people using lvl 16 / 24 or whatever lvl rings, just to gain that freeze reduce probability.
Ice builds actually had the greatest use.

Full ints couldn't last a hit, you had to phantom, run away and nuke at the back while ice bowers/bladers gave the enemy a hella hard time.

Hell, even sosun wasn't "overpowered" as it is now.
People used lower parts armor just for the extra int/str & hp bonus.

Then we didn't had autopot either, you actually had to watch your area, your friends/guildies, your skills all at the same time. now its just spamming buttons and hope to crit more then the enemy or w/e.

If sro would allow us back to 60 cap i'd take a yes straight away.

60/70 caps on Venice were loads of fun since i was a level 23 noob back then with a hybrid int glavie ^^

other players were actually helpful back then nowadays they just call you noob and run off

The autopot feature really was one of the biggest straws for me. The bots were all over, but when we had battles they were good but after the autopot came in the battles just went on forever and took virtually no skill.

Even after I basically quit leveling I still showed up frequently to do some thieving. I was one of the few that didnt pop people. Although I did try it some early I gave that up and hunted for legit thievery!

Those pics of mine were all legit hauls and all solo......

I still don't ever use auto pot in pvp...or in pve for that matter

I liked the 70 cap you didn't have to sp farm to hell and back like you do nowadays :banghead:

remember THE, Royals, Millenium, Truth. so many good guilds back then
(i dont know who was legit and who wasnt). now all those guilds are gone.

I was here around christmas in 05/06 and i can say that the 60 cap was so dam much better than what we have now.

I enjoyed those memories and they will stay with me, no reason to mourne though.. lets just be glad we had such a great sro back then.

I was just about to say that, 3 people in this thread were like "Yeah, hardly any bots, I loved 70 Cap" when they are banned for bot support...
